A REGENCY MAHOGANY CONSOLE OR SIDE TABLE IN THE MANNER OF GILLOWS, CIRCA 1815 92cm high, 147cm wide, 65cm deepProvenance: Christie's, London, 29th April 2010, Lot 7 Private Collection, Wiltshire Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use Some old chips, splits and losses The top with some fading and water marks Of solid, stable structure One small reeded section of moulding below the right carved patera is lacking Though not evident when viewed from the top, later blocks between the table top and the frieze suggest the top has been refixed to the base. No obvious evidence of old worm. The raised gallery to the back has age, and the timber matches, however there is a possibility that it may be later The curved breakfront form, in addition to the carved patera and well figured flame mahogany is a very attractive feature to this tableCondition Report Disclaimer
