1986 Porsche 928 S2 Transmission: manualMileage:72099The 928 series of top-of-the-line motorcars represented a huge departure for the Stuttgart firm. The emphasis was more on refinement and comfort rather than flat-out performance as illustrated by the 911. Power came from the front through a V8, water-cooled engine displacing a hefty 4.5 litres. The body, styled by Wolfgang Möbius, was mainly galvanized steel, but the doors, front wing, front bumpers, and bonnet were made of aluminium to save weight. Interestingly, the pop-up headlights, for which this model is well-known for were based on another equally famous sportscar, the Lamborghini Miura. The original 928 was upgraded in 1986 most notably with ABS and an engine displacement increase to 4.7 litres transforming power output to 310bhp.Earlier this year, GP Customs spent some time on the interior including the Pasha tombstone seats, armrests, centre console and steering wheel to the tune of over £1,600. The car has been repainted at some point in recent years and the quality is good. Invoices can be found in history folder for additional works stretching back and this clean example will be offered at auction with a fresh MoT test certificate, a light service and the original Porsche owner's pack.
1973 BMW 2002 Baur Convertible Transmission: manualMileage:78805The BMW 2002 series is important in the history of BMW for several reasons; not least of which being that it brought the company out of near bankruptcy in the 1960s and put BMW on the map in the United States. It was the ancestral grandfather to the BMW 3 Series and was produced from 1968 to 1976. German BMW importer Max Hoffman is credited with the car's creation. He had suggested to BMW's engineering director that a 2.0 litre engine should be installed into the small two-door 1602 to improve performance and emissions. The resulting 2002 (named after the new motor's displacement) was popular in its first year on sale. This BMW 2002 is one of only 354 examples manufactured in right hand drive format. Conversions on these outstanding vehicles were carried out by coachbuilder Karosserie Baur in Stuttgart. Baur retained a 'T' bar in the roof design helping to dramatically reduce any scuttle shake. This stunning 2002 convertible by Baur is presented in deep Atlantic Blue with contrasting houndstooth trim and presented in excellent order. Restored in the mid-90s by specialists Jaymic with modifications including five-speed BMW 5 series gearbox, electric power steering, Weber twin-choke 34-36 carburettor conversion complete with correct electric fuel pump, a Schrick cam, engine re-build in 2016 with electronic ignition and stainless steel exhaust system, re-built centre console with new dials and a modern sound system including Apple Play and bluetooth phone system. The bodywork has been restored and repainted, a new Targa top fitted and upholstery renovated with new 'original' houndstooth check cloth and blue vinyl imported from Germany. Sitting on original steel wheels and hubcaps with a fabulous Mountney steering wheel, the car is accompanied by a history file including photo records of the restoration works, a large file of invoices going back to 1991 and MoT records back to 1984 which suggests that the mileage is correct. The vendor informs us that during the summer of 2021 the odometer stopped working, although the speedometer is working correctly and few miles have been covered since, but this would benefit from replacing or repairing. A rare and desirable 2002 for which viewing is highly recommended.
1996 Bentley Continental R built to Continental S Specification Transmission: automaticMileage:47400Since 1921, the Bentley name has been synonymous with prestige, performance, and luxury. The 'Continental' designation recalls the 1939 Bentley Continental. The 'R' resonates to the R-Type Continentals from the 1950s as well as the Turbo R of the 1980s. Bentley's resurgence in the 1980s relied exclusively on models shared with other Rolls-Royce cars; however, the Bentley Continental R was unique to the Bentley marque. Needless to say, the performance was outstanding with the combination of the Turbo R engine in the new wind-cheating shape. Produced only for 1995 model year, the Bentley Continental S was offered alongside the Continental R and was only available to established Bentley customers. Fitted with the same V8, 6.75 litre engine as the Continental R but it was also fitted with a Garrett turbocharger, liquid-cooler and revised induction system, which brought performance to an incredible 385bhp at 4100rpm. Performance was slightly improved over the Continental R, reaching 100 km/h from a standstill was achievable in 6.3 seconds, leading to an electronically limited top speed of 155mph. Just thirty-nine examples were built. After 1995 Bentley accepted special orders based on the Continental R but to full Continental S specification, and in some cases using the all the mechanicals as used in the first Continental T which reduced reaching 100km/h from a standstill to 6.0 seconds. This 1996 Bentley Continental is one of the special-order cars built to full Continental S specification for a Bentley client based in Hong Kong. It was probably the most expensive Bentley sold in 1996 with a bill for the car delivered to the Colony at a staggering £500,000. This Continental S has a large history file with extensive Bentley Hong Kong records, which show it having only three owners and only covering 47,400km (29,500 miles) from new. Imported by the current owner in 2017 when he retired and returned to live in Scotland. Finished in the classic Bentley colour Racing Green with Beige piped Spruce leather interior complemented with Spruce Green centre console and top roll, and Conifer carpets. Ordered with the lightest burr walnut veneer available at the time of the build. This very rare Continental is supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in April 2023, the original handbooks and service book, spare keys and a file containing invoices from Bentley Hong Kong and sales brochures. This is one of the rarest Bentleys built not only with the attention to ultimate luxury and refinement but with an emphasis on power and grace.Interested parties should note that the odometer on the speedometer is not working so Historics cannot guarantee the mileage of 47,400 Kilometers.
2011 Mclaren MP4 C12 Transmission: manualMileage:11084The MP4-12C is McLaren's first production car since the legendary McLaren F1. Designed by Frank Stephenson, who also styled the Ferrari F430, the MP4-12C was launched in 2011 and was built using a great deal of technology from McLaren's Formula One program. The 3.8 litre, bi-turbo, V8 is breathtaking, delivering 592bhp at 7,000rpm and 600Nm of torque. Combine that with a kerb weight of only 1,301kg (the comparable Ferrari 458 Italia weighs 1,380kg) and performance is simply sensational. A Formula One style carbon tub, known as a 'Carbon Mono Cell', forms the basis of the car's chassis and weighs just 80kg. In addition, the engine is mated to a seven-speed automatic dual-clutch gearbox allowing for seamless gear changes. Even the name 'MP4-12C' is a homage to McLaren's Formula One history, as every chassis since 1981 has been labelled MP4.The MP4-12C can sprint from 0-62mph in 3.1 seconds, however where the McLaren blows its rivals away is in acceleration to 125mph, only the Bugatti Veyron is faster at just 8.9 seconds, compared to the 458 taking 10.4 seconds, and it even beat Ferrari's best Enzo. The beautifully engineered cantilever wing doors look fantastic but it's the McLaren ProActive Chassis Control (MPCC) that steals the show, a revolutionary set-up that puts the McLaren ahead of its rivals. On the left of the narrow centre console is a dial marked 'H' (for handling), which allows you to switch the suspension, steering and electronic stability control between Normal, Sport and Track modes. A similar dial on the right wears a 'P' (for powertrain) and it has the same modes to tweak the response of the gearshifts, engine and manage the sound of the power plant in the cabin. Thanks to the large brakes and the spectacular rear air brake flap, stopping power is superb. In addition to MPCC, the MP4-12C gets McLaren's rear-wheel Brake Steer system, which brakes the inside wheel, if necessary, to keep you on course. On the exit of tight bends, Brake Steer then also jumps in to minimise time-wasting wheel spin and correctional control inputs. Unbelievably for a car of this nature, the MP4-12C's fuel efficiency and emissions are also unbeatable in this class, emitting less CO2 per horsepower than a Toyota Prius hybrid! The MP4-12C is a remarkable product from a remarkable company. It distils the values of the McLaren brand - technological expertise, efficiency and sheer speed - into a stunningly useable package. This fabulous example, which comes with a full service history, is presented in gleaming Volcano Red with Carbon Black Alcantara interior which looks superb with its contrast stitch being Harissa Red. The original owner specified to the factory to have a carbon fibre interior upgrade and carbon fibre engine bay panels. It sits on lightweight forged wheels with the 'Stealth' finish, comes with parking sensors front and rear, sports exhaust, satellite navigation and Meridian surround sound system. It also has electric and heated memory seats, two sets of keys, branded floor mat set and a vehicle tracking system.Interested parties should note that the vendor has the new passenger window which will be delivered to the new owner but the fitting of which will be down to the buyer. It can be fitted by most garages or Autoglass we understand.
1994 Maserati Ghibli Series II Grantourismo Transmission: automaticMileage:75203The advent of the Series II Ghibli announced to the world that the Maserati had finally come of age. With all new styling by the famous pen of Gandini, it was better built with improved styling and more advanced. It was powered by Maserati's own twin turbocharged, V6 engine with fully adjustable electronic suspension, ABS brakes and an oil-cooled limited slip differential. This elegant coupé was built for luxury as well as performance with the interior featuring Connolly leather upholstery and burr elm trim. The history accompanying this Series II Ghibli is extensive and stretches right back to the day it was collected from the factory on the 26th March 1994. It was originally sold two Mr Roger Epsztajn of London through Meridien Maserati and it is reassuring to note that there are numerous invoices latterly from Maserati specialist, Bill McGrath, to be found within the file exceed £11,000 over the years and over £28,000 all told. More recently, GP customs of reading in Berkshire have focused on the interior trim. They clearly know their onions as the seats, including bolster, centre console, carpets and all suede elements look as good as new.Supplied to the sale with a full one-year MoT test certificate and a light service, you will find the iconic analogue Maserati clock still set into burr elm dashboard, it is unsurprising that these well-appointed Italian classics are fast becoming increasingly desirable.
2004 Mercedes-Benz 230 SLK Transmission: automaticMileage:51991At the start of the 1990s, after the introduction of their two-seat, grand-tourer R129 SL and the Mazda MX-5, Mercedes-Benz set out to create a new compact roadster, slotted below the SL. By late 1991, under Bruno Sacco, the first design sketches were drawn, with scale models being built in the first half of 1992. Massively successful in its first year, worldwide sales hit 55,000, over double the entire nine-year production of 190 SLs, and between 1996 and 2004 over 311,000 SLKs were sold. The roof design consists of a folding steel hardtop with both halves linked by a mechanism which is locked securely when the roof is closed. At the touch of a button on the centre console, a hydraulic system controls the fully automatic folding process in which the boot lid is also integrated.Originally registered on 31st March 2004, this Mercedes-Benz is finished in black with a black interior. The condition of this handsome German beauty is a testament to its previous owner. The options specified on the original invoice include leather trim and automatic transmission. The impressive power roof works faultlessly, and she is fitted with a CD player. With an engine that starts on the button, this Mercedes-Benz is described as driving with no known faults. Supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate valid until 24th August 2022 and various bills and receipts, this striking SLK 230 Kompressor is offered for sale without reserve.
2007 Aston Martin Vanquish S Transmission: Mileage:75693A total of 1,086 Vanquish S models were manufactured between 2005 and 2007 and it was debuted at the 2004 Paris Motor Show. Offering a power increase from 460bhp to 520bhp, other changes included new wheels, a slightly different nose shape, new raised boot lid with a larger integrated spoiler and the addition of a small front splitter for aerodynamic reasons which help the Vanquish S boast an improved drag coefficient. The car also featured an optional Sports Dynamic Package which incorporated sportier suspension, steering and larger brakes than the standard V12 Vanquish. With a top speed exceeding 200mph, the Vanquish S was, at the time, the fastest Aston Martin ever produced. This stunning Aston Martin Vanquish S with the fabulous 6.0 litre V12, presented in Tungsten Silver (same as in the Bond film) with Obsidian Black interior and quilted headlining is a very sought-after model, having always been garaged which is evident by the great condition the car is in. Optional extras fitted by the factory were an engine pre-heater, Bluetooth, Red Brake Calipers (replaced with new original gold ones last year), console storage box, body coloured door release, front stone guards, heated front screen and desirable 2+2 seating. Offered with a full service history and more recently benefitting from a full clutch replacement and two new fuel pumps by Aston Service, Dorset just 200 miles ago. During the most recent full service in 2021 the car also benefitted from all the possible upgrades that they have to offer, with David Such having spent a lot of time researching the potential issues known about these cars and producing parts to prevent these from happening. These upgrades fitted last year include AP Racing discs attached to new high grade anodised aluminium bells which carry a different bobbin design and much improved anti-rattle springs to eliminate the brake rattle issues. Also included were Ferodo Race Pads all round, aluminium wheel arch liner brackets which replaced the existing steel ones equalling zero corrosion to the tub, front water manifold pipes coupled to a full set of upgraded radiator hoses, a replacement misfire module shields and fuse cover box. Under bonnet side panels, Black stainless steel bolt kit for the undertrays and all other fixings exposed to the elements under the car were also replaced along with K&N cone air filters to replace the OEM single cylinder filter. Also replaced was the rear exhaust muffler/back box, it was replaced with a Quicksilver Sport version instead which sounds amazing!! Everything else on the car is as per factory fitted standard specification, over £15,000 has been spent on this car last year to future proof it for the next owner. In all other respects this car is in immaculate condition and must been seen. Just having their 20th anniversary this year, the Vanquish is officially the last hand made cars made by Aston Martin and therefore suitably collectable and are appreciating in value nicely.
1973 Jensen Interceptor Mk. III SP Transmission: automaticMileage:1500Alan and his brother Richard Jensen first became involved with car design and construction in 1925 when their efforts to improve on the styling and performance of an Austin Seven Chummy attracted much favourable attention. A few Jensen-bodied Fords were produced in the mid-1930s before a more serious manufacturing effort commenced in 1938. After World War II, Jensen kept itself afloat by producing bodies for other manufacturers, most notably Austin Healey, while producing its own stylish GTs in limited numbers. It was not until the Interceptor's arrival in 1967 that cars began to leave the West Bromwich factory in more substantial numbers. With the Interceptor's introduction, Jensen switched from glass fibre to steel for its car bodies, though underneath the preceding C-V8's chassis, running gear and 6,276 cc Chrysler engine remained substantially unchanged. With around 280 bhp on tap, performance was more than adequate, The Motor recording a top speed of 140 mph with 100 mph arriving from a standstill in 19 seconds. Four-wheel servo-assisted Dunlop discs looked after the braking while the ride quality could be varied by the Armstrong Selectaride dampers' dashboard control. Leather upholstery, reclining front seats, and walnut veneer trim were all standard features of this Vignale-styled Anglo-American GT, while automatic transmission was the choice of almost all buyers. The Series II incorporated revised front suspension, Girling brakes, and a redesigned interior, while the Series III, introduced in October 1971, came with a 7.2-litre engine, better seats, central locking, and GKN alloy wheels. The SP (six-pack) was the rare one - with only 232 being built. This lovely example is the very rare and desirable SP model and is presented in Black Garnet, synonymous as a Rolls-Royce colour and looks superb. Its interior has been upgraded to a more luxurious specification to include new front seats with burgundy leather, including door cards and the dash and console have been replaced with burr walnut which looks superb. The current vendor has owned this wonderful sports car since 1976 and is only the third owner from new. In this time, he has also enhanced the Jensen with some extremely smart modifications which include hydraulic lifts for the boot lid, operated from inside with a switch and there is an air compressor in the boot which can be connected up to a fixture which would enable one to blow up the tyres whenever necessary; the spare tyre automatically descends on the press of a button and ascends on the push of a button making it very practical to access when needed. The front seats recline electrically, electric folding mirrors, one touch electric windows and there are footwell lights to front and rear. The air conditioning works well, and the owner has also fitted ABS brakes which makes sense these days and he also boxed in the front and rear wheel arches which keeps the engine bay devoid of road dirt and the rear also. The headlining was also replaced, and the owner also had all controls for indicators etc mounted on stalks from the steering column. Its original mighty 7.2 litre engine is fabulous, and the original SP (six pack) has been removed and replaced with a more user-friendly single twin choked carburettor. The car is also fitted with an immobilizer, new stainless-steel exhaust and it comes with a good photographic and documented history. This really is a superb example that has been sympathetically upgraded to an extremely high standard making it very drivable and useable compared to its more 'original' examples.
