A woman of elegant bearing and harmonious features rests her body on a console raised on taps, in an arched, comfortable and sensual posture of great sophistication. She covers her smooth skin with vaporous fabrics that undulate on her body in an exceptional manner.A sculptor active in Florence between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Emilio Fiaschi trained at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence in the Florentine sculptural tradition. He worked mainly in Carrara marble and alabaster, and produced busts and complete figures on a variety of themes, ranging from classical mythology to literary subjects and genre scenes. His language was characterised by an acute sense of detail, and his works are distinguished by the finesse of their finish. He is now represented in private collections in Europe and America.
