Sport - Boxen - - Zwei Alben mit 124 (ca. 80 signierten) Original-Photographien von Boxkämpfern. Vintages. Silbergelatine. Meist montiert. Berlin, 1940er/50er Jahre. Leinenband mit Kordelbindung und Kunstledereinband.Sehr schöne Autogramm-Sammlungen der Boxfans "Fred" und "Günter". So hinterließen die meisten Kämpfer im ersten Album nicht nur ihre Unterschrift auf den Pressephotographien, sondern vereinzelt auch eine kurze Widmung. Freds Album (mit 82 Photos) beginnt mit dem Vize-Europameister im Schwergewicht von 1942 Richard Grupe und endet mit Aufnahmen der Kämpfe zwischen den Leichtgewichten Erwin Völker gegen Heinz Sander 1948 in der Neuen Welt und gegen Otto Domke im Mai 1949. Dazwischen, oft von beiden Kämpfern signierte Aufnahmen der Fights zwischen Peter Müller und Hans Stretz, Conny Rux gegen Jean Kreitz oder Carl "Kuddel" Schmidt versus Fritz Gahrmeister, daneben auch eine Aufnahme von Max Schmelings letztem Kampf gegen Richard Vogt in der Waldbühne 1948. - Das zweite Album (mit 42 Photos) beginnt mit Aufnahmen des Box-Clubs Neukölln, nachdem er 1950 den Erwin-Thoma-Pokal gewonnen hatte, zeigt Aufnahmen von "Berlins größtem Boxereignis seit Jahren! Amerikas Klasseboxer in der Waldbühne" (Mai 1950) und enthält nur zwei von Bubi Scholz signierte Autogrammkarten sowie eine von Hans Stretz. - Die Photographien teils gelocht, selten mit Namenseintrag der Boxer, teils etwas berieben und mit kleineren Randläsuren.

(28) lvs. W. beautiful large woodcut on title, 35 fine woodcuts in the text & 100 woodcut initials. 8°. Mod. h. vellum binding. (Small hole in last leaf, but this leaf is skilfully duplicated with thin Japanese paper and only some minor loss of text, wormholes in inner blank margin of first two lvs. skilfully rep., lower outer margin (faintly) stained, but else a very good copy with charming woodcuts). NOTE:The Flower of Virtue is an anthology of moralizing content drawn up in the early fourteenth century by a certain friar Tommaso, who lived between the late thirteenth and early fourteenth century. The collection, of which well over one hundred manuscripts are known, had a great success and was re-proposed in more than thirty editions of the fifteenth century and translated, even several times, into numerous languages. Reprint of the edition of April 24th 1500. - Collation: a-c8, d4. GW 9937; Sander 2743; Hain 7116 (ed. April 24th); ISTC if00186300; Bod-Inc. F-058. GW mentions that there are five copies known. A George III silver inkwell, by Samuel Herbert & Co, London 1765, rectangular form, the gallery pierced with chevron decoration, gadroon borders, with a silver-mounted glass inkwell and sander, engraved with an armorial within foliate mantling, on four claw and ball feet, length 16.2cm, approx. weighable 7oz. The armorial is that of Mills impaling another.
