HORNBY 20V 3R E320 Cornish Riviera Train Set comprising No 3 4-4-2 GWR Green no 4073 `Caerphilly Castle` and Tender, Pullman Cars Loraine and Verona (the latter fitted with a concertina corridor connection), a circle of 12 x EA2 Curved Rails, a Box of 12 connecting plates, Boxed TCPL20 Terminal Connecting Plate, an unused No 32 Lead Fuse Wire Card, How to plan your Hornby Electric Railway Leaflet (7/1134/20) and Hornby Layout Suggestions Leaflet (1/735/40). The Locomotive is in its compartment in a Red Meccano and Hornby Service Department Box with a Green GW Sticker and repair no 2610 to one end. It is likely that the Guarantee slip and original corrugated wrapping paper were sent with the locomotive back to Hornby shortly after purchase for replacement driving wheels The pick up suggests little use and the protective cardboard keep remains around the Locomotive boiler. The locomotive Body , Tender and both Pullman Cars present as Excellent/Near Mint. The Brown Set Box with Royal Scot label has storage scuffs to the lid top edges and a split to one corner. The Box lid label and side Set label are complete with no paper loss and no adhesive loss. The Box base is Excellent. Overall an Excellent Plus example of a pre war E320 Set and a very rare find in such condition.

Together with a 1935 South America service timetable – very badly torn. Also a letter bundle for the ‘Graf Zeppelin’ flight to England in 1931. Clear cachet, with handwritten ‘Friedrichshafen, Germany’. Plus a Veedol Motor Oil advertisement card, used, with matching meter mark and a 1928 ‘Graf Zeppelin’ souvenir card. QGC-GC. See Plate.15
