1925 pocket MAP & TIMETABLE for City Motor Omnibus Co service 536A from Highgate Station to Southend Village. City was one of London's most successful independent bus operators and ran from 1923 until takeover by the LPTB in 1934. This fold-out leaflet typifies their professionalism. A few small stains but generally in good, used condition. [1]

Mac Suibhne (Toirdhealbhach) [Terence MacSwiney]. Battle-Cries [poetry]. 1918, grey printed wrappers, no publisher, no censor's approval, upper cover beginning to separate. Very Scarce. Laid in is a rare concertina-folded leaflet, 'Terence MacSwiney Speaks with Prophetic Vision', quoting his poem 'Parley', proceeds in aid of Dependents' Fund. (1)MacSwiney [1879-1920] was a founder member of the Cork Volunteers and a full time Volunteer Organiser, elected Lord Mayor of Cork after Tomas Mac Curtain's murder in March 1920. Arrested later that year and charged with having seditious documents, MacSwiney went on hunger strike and died in Brixton Prison on the 74th day of his fast. His death coincided with the execution of Kevin Barry, marking a turning point in popular support for the independence struggle.

A Davis's Improved large compound microscope, circa 1840, unsigned, contained within original mahogany fitted box, with accessories to include nose-pieces, six four-cell bone slides, magnifier, convex lens setting frame etc, the box with spares drawer containing leaflet describing Davis's Improved microscope, w.27cm. Overall condition appears OK.Glass appears intact.Some signs of wear to microscope, otherwise good.Back of case is coming away and requires re-gluing.Brass lozenge and escutcheon both tarnished.Minor veneer loss to lid.

There are some light creases to two of the button holes from the belt being worn. Entire length is 103cm, length from largest hole to buckle button is about 92.5cm approx.
