Jason and The Argonauts (1963) Jason and The Golden Fleece (working title) pre-release leaflet, promotional brochure will pull out (no cuts), original stills, some stamped Ray Harryhausen on reverse and with hand written titles and three colour negatives from the film.Background - Tony Dalton was a close friend of Ray Harryhausen for over 40 years and was Curator of the Ray & Diana Harryhausen Foundation which held most of Ray’s photographic and animation collection, including models. Tony has compiled and written five books on Ray - An Animated Life (2003), The Art of Ray Harryhausen (2005), A Century of Model Animation (2008), Ray Harryhausen: A Life in Pictures (2010) and Fantasy Scrapbook (2011). He is without doubt the leading expert on Harryhausen and has also given many lectures on the subject. All the items for sale were given to Tony as gifts beginning in 1977 and ending in 2003. All of the items have unrivalled provenance and are auctioned with a signed letter from Tony Dalton for each individual lot. * Shoji Hamada [1894-1978] a Mongama' stoneware flower vase: of tapering cylindrical form with small lug handles dipped in brown and ivory under clear glaze with tenmoku interior, 20 cm high, together with wooden box containing a paper leaflet by Yanagi Soetsu bearing information on Shoji Hamada, the underside of the cover, bearing an inscription and Mongama seal.
