Consisting of red card Chewbacca (THX leaflet) signed by Peter Mayhew, red card R2-D2 signed by Kenny Baker, red card Boba Fett (THX leaflet) signed by Jeremy Bulloch, similar example without the THX leaflet behind the figure, green card Greedo signed by Paul Blake and green card Bib Fortuna signed by Michael Carter. Includes 1918 XV Corps Christmas card, 1920 letter from the Infantry Record Office about exhuming the remains of a soldier from the Durham Light Infantry for proper burial in Ypres, Two RAF 1944 and 1945 Christmas cards, 1942 leaflet about phosphorus bombs issued by the Ministry of Home Security, RAF Benson pass and more. Gladys Alward (1902-1970), an archive, British Missionary in China, best know for her work dedicated to children, in 1938 after the Japanese invasion of China she rescued over 100 children taking them on a perilous journey over The Yellow River to safety, this remarkable achievement prompted a book to be written, 'The Small Woman' by Anthony Burgess and a film to be made 'The Inn of Sixth Happiness' starring Ingrid Bergman and Curt Jurgens, to include a collection of family photographs of Gladys as a child and numerous other photographs to include her life in China and her appearance on BBC's 'This is Your Life', 1st April 1963, a three page typewritten precis of her life, written by Gladys with her own annotations, her Memorial Service leaflet, 27th February 1970, press cuttings, a silk banner form the Aylward Orphanage, Taiwan, her Steiff teddy bear from her childhood in London, a Chinese inkwell and other ceramics from her belongings returned to England after her death and her Bible with many annotations and drawings, (parcel)

The Silence of Thasus, 1993, bronze portrait, artist's monogram at base of verso, 40 cm (16 ins), mounted on a concrete base Included with the lot is a leaflet for 'Sculpture in Paradise' exhibition at Chichester, Sussex, 3-19 July 1994, where this work was exhibited and purchased from. Also included is an artist's autograph letter signed to the purchaser at the time and a typed explanation note with regard to the genesis of the sculpture, both one page on letterhead stationery, 4to, all loosely inserted with a biography in the artist's folder. c1925 Metropolitan Railway LEAFLET 'Watford's New Facility' promoting the company's new bus service linking its rather remote Watford station with the town centre & residential areas to boost rail traffic following its abortive attempts to extend its line into the town. Opens out to a plan of the bus service & the line to Baker St and includes pictures of one of the buses, an electric train & Baker St station under construction. An unusual item, a little worn but quite reasonable. [1]
1924 British Empire Exhibition at Wembley items comprising the official fold-out PLAN & MAP designed by Kennedy North in a style similar to MacDonald Gill with an Underground map with calligraphed station names and elaborate, colourful illustrations plus the Underground Group fold-out LEAFLET 'The Way to the Exhibition' including a plan with rail and bus stations shown. Both in used condition with some wear but still reasonable. [1]
