Lawrence leading a group on camels for "The March on Aqaba"; a pilot in an open cockpit for "Dawn Patrol" a man climbing out of a rough sea for "The Survivor"; and a young boy seated with a kitten and a man holding a dagger amidst ruined buildings for "The Silver Sword" all with paper mounts the first three with monochrome proofs 375mm. by 267mm. ***The stories were published by Octopus Books " probably in 1979.
A late 19th century bowie knife, the blade marked "Corsan Denton Burdekin & Co", length of blade 14cm, with white metal crossguard and handle of black lacquer with inset segments of mother of pearl and gilt decoration, complete with a leather and metal scabbard; also a dagger made from a cut-down sword of possibly early 19th century date, length of blade now 23cm, with gilt brass hilt and crossguard (2).
An interesting Georgian naval officer’s hanger of the Nile club, curved blade 18½” etched with flowers, wreaths and helmeted bust holding a curved dagger within medallion, and retaining traces of blued and gilt finish, the copper gilt hilt having crocodile head pommel and with crocodile on the pierced guard, which has recurved finials, chequered ivory grip, chain knuckle guard. In its leather sheath with brass mounts retaining traces of gilt. Generally Good Condition, (some wear to blade and sheath). Plate 8
A Belgian 6 shot 7mm pin fire Dolne “Apache” revolver/knuckleduster/dagger, 9” overall open, barrels 1½” with floral engraved panels and Liege proof, with 3” folding wavy blade on left side, the German silver frame and folding knuckleduster/grip engraved with chequered pattern and panels of flowers, the frame also stamped with serial number 1959 and “Dolne-Bar Inv Brevete”, folding trigger.
