A triangular-bladed dagger with rounded shoulders and slight midrib to the blade; the broad hilt is cast with lateral flanges which contained an organic inset grip on both faces; the upper end of the hilt features a broad pelta-shaped flange. 305 grams, 37.5cm (14 3/4"). Ex Miller collection; acquired from Coincraft, London, UK; with certificate of authenticity. Fine condition.
Circa 1000 BC. A large bronze dagger with lozenge-section narrowing blade, transverse guard, grip with flanged edges to accept an organic insert. 313 grams, 41.5cm (16 1/4"). A iron dagger or short stabbing sword with spine down centre of blade, heart shaped chappe; grip recessed for organic inlay, pommel formed into curled horn shape. 435 grams, 39cm (15 1/4"). Property of a professional; acquired on the European art market in the 1980s. [No Reserve] Fair condition.
1st-2nd century AD. A cast bronze dagger pommel, the socket hexagonal in section with gryphon-head finial; the ears triangular with median crest and hooked beak. 46 grams, 35mm (1 1/4"). Found Norfolk, UK, acquired before 1980. The gryphon is associated with the goddess Nemesis. The goddess was adopted by the Romans from the Greeks; she was the goddess of vengeance and retribution and was closely associated with the underworld. Images of gryphons appear on gladiatorial equipment as well as that of soldiers in the Roman army, such as the gryphon head on the crest of the famous Crosby Garrett cavalry helmet found in Cumbria in 2010. Fine condition, crack to socket rim.
1st-3rd century AD. A bronze figurine of a thraex gladiator with rounded helmet, short belted tunic or lion cloth, small round shield raised to the left shoulder, palm branch held in the right hand. 8.57 grams, 39mm (1 1/2"). Found Canterbury area, Kent, UK, 1980s. The thraex, meaning Thracian, wore distinctive equipment such as quilted leg wrappings, two high greaves and a brimmed helmet with a tall crescent shaped crest. They carried a small, square shield and a small, curved, almost dagger like sword. Their standard opponent in the games was the Murmillo gladiators. The large flat object held in the right hand of this example would appear to be a victor's palm branch. [No Reserve] Fair condition, cleaned and conserved.
Late 18th-early 19th century AD. A thin leaf of ivory curving from the shape of the original tusk and squared at either end, finely painted with a scene entitled, in Hebrew, 'Akeda Yitzchak' (The Binding of Isaac) showing Abraham in a rocky and wooded landscape, throwing away a dagger and standing before an altar on which his son Isaac kneels, with hands tied behind his back; above both figures is an angel who points to a goat at the bottom lower right of the scene; next to the goat is a red coloured garment and a pot with flames coming out of the top; to the bottom of the scene is the Hebrew inscription ?????????, ???-????????? ?????? ???-????????, ?????-??????? ???, ???????? from Genesis 22.12 (Lay not thy hand upon the boy, neither do thou any thing unto him); an artist signature 'Karbasi' is below; of Middle Eastern workmanship. 55 grams, 29cm (11 1/2"). Property of an American collector; acquired Europe 1970s-1990s. Very fine condition. Rare.
A GERMAN THIRD REICH MODEL 1933 SA DAGGER RZM M 7/2, the 22cm blade engraved 'Alles fur Deutschland', the crossguard without 'Gruppe' mark, the wooden grip with inset 'SA' button, aluminium eagle and nickel silver mounts, in its painted steel scabbard with nickel silver mounts, overall 37.5cm long.

Polish Air Force Officers Dress Dagger, being the 1952 pattern example with silver plated fittings. Red and white enamel diamond insignia of the Polish air force to the top of the dagger scabbard. Press button on the reverse of the handle. Plain polished blade which is numbered 20957. Small chip to the handle and scuff to the leather scabbard. Accompanied by a reproduction 1937 pattern Polish Air Force officers dagger. (2 items)
German Army Officers Dress Dagger, complete with its original bullion dress knot and velvet backed hanging straps. Dagger has orange handle with one chip to the bottom part. Polished eagle cross guard and top pommel. Complete with the original scabbard. Blade is an unmaker marked example. Generally good condition.
SS Officers Chained Dress Dagger with black ebony handle having eagle and rune badges inserted. Black painted scabbard with nickel mounts. Hanging chains with SS runes and skulls, reverse having SS rune mark. Plain un-maker marked blade with motto Meine Ehre Heist Treue. The dagger shows evidence of restoration to the handle, scabbard and chains. Viewing strongly recommended.
Third Reich Dagger Accoutrements and Belt Manufacturer Roder &Cie Solingen Salesman Catalogue, having illustrations of the various dagger accoutrements and belts that they produced for armed forces and civilian organisations of the Third Reich such as the Labour Corps (RAD) and Police etc. Front cover has remains of an ink stamp from a Vienna salesman. Good overall condition.
Third Reich SA Dress Dagger complete with the original brown handle having eagle and SA devices. Complete with the original scabbard which has sadly lost all of its original paint finish. Attached to the scabbard is the original short leather hanging strap. Interestingly the blade has been put into the dagger the wrong way round. Blade has clear motto Alles Fur Deutschland and makers mark for Max Weyersberg Solingen. Some staining to the blade. The exterior fittings do show some Verdigris.
Luftwaffe 1st Pattern Dress Dagger being a early nickel silver example with blue leather covered handle and scabbard. Some plating lifting to the fittings. The blade unusually does not have any makers mark. Full length chains with original DRGM marked clip. Some scuffing to the leather work but generally good condition.
Late War Kriegsmarine Officers Dress Dagger by Alcoso, the dagger is complete with its original orange handle. The fittings are of poor quality which is typical of late war Alcoso daggers. Plain blade with Alcoso makers trade mark to the base. Dagger is complete with single hanging strap which is missing lion head fitting.
Third Reich NSKK Dress Dagger by Anton Wingen Jr Solingen, the dagger is complete with its original black scabbard. Grip with eagle and early copper based SA device. Fittings have lost some of the plating. Blade has the motto Alles fur Deutschland and makers mark to the base of the reverse side of the blade. Exterior of the dagger has been well polished.

Fittings also show some wear and nicks. Blade has F & A HELBIG makers mark. Blade has some staining but generally good condition. Top pommel is loose as is the bottom scabbard chape.
