A Third Reich officer's Dienstdolch dagger, the unmarked blade length 26cm (bent), to orange grip housed in two-ring pebbled scabbard with frog and silver bullion core knot.Additional InformationThe blade has been bent just above the base, the scabbard has a corresponding and sizeable dent, also the fixtures are somewhat loose, further scratches and nibbles to the blade as sell as furniture throughout. Some fraying to the cord and discolouration to the silver bullion work.

The helmet of green painted steel construction, with chin strap present (no liner). Inscribed with paint to the side by the original soldier, including a small depiction of a commando dagger. The double edged blade etched with ' The FS Fighting Knife ' mark to ricasso, along with Wilkinson Sword makers marks to the other side. The hilt with checkered grips, the quillon with no stamps. The dagger secreted within the mouthpiece of a traditional smoking pipe, which can be drawn by removing the mouthpiece. The small rounded blade mounted with a bullet casing to base. A very rare item. A vintage 20th Century Scottish Highland Regiment Officers / Pipers / drummers Dirk dagger having a traditional ebonised and studded carved wood handle, Crown emblemed pommel, silver white metal collar, fullered single edged blade with serrated back along with the original leather scabbard with silver white metal mounts having thistle relief decoration. The blade having scratched marks for P.G. Rugman and the maker scratched out to the ricasso, the scabbard mount having marks ' 973 6900 ' and dated 1973. Measures; 47cm total.

As issued to Lieutenant Arthur Francis Sherard Veasey of No. 3 Commando, his initials to the rear of the scabbard. A rare item. No. 3 Commando was a battalion-sized Commando unit raised by the British Army during the Second World War. Formed in July 1940 from volunteers for special service, it was the first such unit to carry the title of "Commando". Shortly afterwards the unit was involved in a largely unsuccessful raid upon the German-occupied Channel Island of Guernsey.
