Early 1900's Charles Frederick Worth Gown. Label No. 72.32.5. This sumptuous historical gown made by the Father of Haute-Couture. Was probably made in Paris around 1895. This dress reflects his passion for meticulous detail and lavish fabrics and trims. Beaded and trained this one-piece black satin brocaded with black and gold leaves, boned bodice, front self buttons, gigot sleeve, black beadwork, bodice insert of openwork metallic gold flanked by embroidered net. The hem of dagger points is lined is black silk faille, a hidden pocket. Waist - 27. skirt front length 38, back length 52. (1)
