A 19th century Doulton Lambeth stoneware glazed ewer jug. Mustard glaze with embellished banding having two large cartouche panels, one depicting a farmer woman and sow, the other a floral roundel. Waisted neck with loop handle. Impressed marks and RD no 4817 for 1884 - 1885 with further marks and initials BP to base. Measures 23cm high.

A large and well-formed bifacial axe with pointed butt and convex cutting edge, of heavy cross-section; in a translucent brown-grey flint with some small areas of original cortex and river valley gravels patination. 645 grams, 19cm (7 1/2"). Property of a Salisbury, Wiltshire, UK collector; formerly in the Deeprose collection; found near Chichester, West Sussex, UK, in the 1950s. [No Reserve]Fine condition.
600,000-300,000 years BP. A knapped flint bifacial handaxe with partial remains of the cortex. 674 grams, 17cm (6 3/4"). Property of a Salisbury, Wiltshire, UK collector; formerly in the Chris Rudd collection (with ticket), Norfolk, UK; formed since the 1970s; collection number SA2; found Dewlish, Dorset, UK, in 1929. Fine condition.
1.7 million-100,000 years BP. A symmetrically knapped quartzite hand axe from the Chinguetti Region (Adrar Plateau, Mauretania"). 751 grams, 19cm (7 1/2"). Property of a Salisbury, Wiltshire, UK collector; previously in the John Lawson collection; formerly from the Chinguetti Region, Adrar Plateau, Mauretania. [No Reserve]Fine condition.
Cretaceous Period, Aptian Stage, 125-113 million years BP. A very large tooth of the Carcharodontosaurus saharicus, showing evidence of serrated edges; from the Tegana formation of the Sahara Desert, Morocco. 120 grams, 13cm (5 1/4"). From an old Lincolnshire collection; acquired during the 1980s. The Carcharodontosaurus saharicus was one of the largest predators of all time (larger than its distant North American T-Rex cousin) and is related to Allosaurus and the South American Giganotosaurus. Fine condition.
Pliocene to Miocene Epoch, 4-7 million years BP. An exceptionally large Carcharocles megalodon shark tooth displaying good enamel and serrations, from the Hawthorne Formation, Morgan River, USA; supplied in a glazed display box. 408 grams, 14.5cm (5 3/4"). From an important Scottish collection of shark teeth; formerly in the collection of Paul Morrison; acquired from Fossil Shark Teeth Inc, Cody, USA; accompanied by the original invoice dated 8 November 2007. Very fine condition. Rare.

A high quality Carcharocles megalodon shark tooth with excellent enamel and serrations, from the Hawthorne Formation, Savannah, USA; supplied in a glazed display case. 64 grams, 85mm (3 1/2"). An unusually chocolate-coloured Carcharocles megalodon shark tooth with good serrations and enamel, from the Hawthorne Formation, St Mary's River, USA; supplied with a glazed display case. 115 grams, 10cm (4"). Triassic Period, 250-200 million years BP. A beautifully prepared complete fossil of Keichousaurus hui on a matrix; from Xingyi, Guizhou, China. 886 grams, 28cm (11"). From an old Bristol palaeontological collection; acquired 1950s-1960s. Keichousaurus was a late-Triassic marine reptile, and a member of the Pleurosaur family, which went extinct 250 million years ago during the Triassic-Jurassic extinction event. They were specialised fish eaters, and were highly unusual amongst marine reptiles in that they gave birth to live young rather than laying eggs. Fine condition.
Pleistocene Period, 1 million years BP. An almost complete woolly rhino Coelodonta antiquitatis lower jaw with one complete and several partial teeth. 5.2 kg, 52.5cm (20 3/4"). From an old Bristol palaeontological collection; acquired 1950s-1960s; from Brown Bank, Lowestoft, UK. Fine condition.
Pliocene Period, 5.2 - 2.5 million years BP. A woolly mammoth Mammuthus primigenius tooth displaying some good root, found at the bank of the Lena River near of the city Yakutsk (Yakutia, North Siberia), Russia. 1.4 kg, 18.5cm (7 1/4"). From the collection of the palaeontologist R. Gledhill, collected between 1930 and 1960. Fine condition.
Pleistocene Period, 2.6 million years-11,700 years BP. A large Mammuthus primigenius woolly mammoth tooth, displaying good roots and chewing surface. 3.7 kg, 22cm (8 3/4").
