He left for Paris and, at the age of 21, became the youngest member of the School of Paris. When Blatas was 24, the Galerie Nationale du Jeu de Paume in Paris first acquired some of his paintings; he had already become a colleague and friend of many of the great figures of the Paris art world, such as Vlaminck, Soutine, Picasso, Utrillo, Braque, Zadkine, Leger and Derain.

Alexandra Nechita: A child prodigy Alexandra Nechita began drawing at two and working with oils and acrylics aged seven. Nechita's first exhibit was held at a Los Angeles-area public library when she was eight years old. Her talent and popularity grew and she became labelled as the "petite Picasso" by the media. PROVENANCE: Purchased at liquidation auction of former cruise ship auctioneer World Art Auctions Minor creases throughout, has been rolled. Overall condition good.
