An Edward VII hallmarked silver hat pin stand in the form of a golf club, with scrolled wire pin supports and three ring hooks, with circular pin cushion and circular stand, Adie & Lovekin, Birmingham 1908, height 10.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: Slightly wobbly to base as one of the three securing pins is missing - easy to remedy. The cushion has been used but retains dome shape. Some staining and pin holes. Base, stem and supports in good condition, hallmarks are crisp.

CONDITION REPORT: Stem leaning slightly, top and support in good condition but with residue of cleaning product. Cushion has been used. Pin holes visible and a little staining, seam a little stretched. Base has a small dint to the edge, hallmarks are clear.

CONDITION REPORT: Stem and support slightly crooked. Cushion has some pin marks. Staining but is in good condition and velvet retains its nap. Base very slightly dinted. Marks are clear.

CONDITION REPORT: Thistle with four loops: small chip to glass, hallmarks intact. Small thistle: good condition, marks intact. Circular: centre pin a little proud at top, hallmarks clear. Stand: silver surround in good condition with one or two dents, the cushion is damaged. Some tarnish and residue of cleaning products throughout all three pins and cushion.

Central stone has crack otherwise good. Cushion shaped diamonds each approx. 4mm x 4.5mm - one is approx. 2.5mm deep, the other approx. 2.9mm deep.

From the Alexandra collection, Somerset, UK; previously acquired by a Russian art collector from Sotheby's Amsterdam in 2004; formerly acquired between 1970 and 1972 by one of the largest industrialists from East Germany, who made his fortune in selling cement to Russia, and was subsequently part-paid in icons and other important works of art by the Russian government. Fine condition, edges abraded.
