A late 19th/early 20th Century South African steel spear with wooden shaft, 87ins, (tip missing), another, 50.5ins, and a Chinese or Persian lacquer circular shield with four metal bosses, 19.5ins diameter, together with an early 20th Century Native North American glass beadwork cushion of shaped outline with a dove of peace between two union flags, 9ins x 10ins. and a small similar cushion of heart shape Note: The spears were brought back to this country during the Boer War by an ancestor of the current vendor.
THE CALLAS CARMEN - An original and complete stereo ED1 pressing of this rare set (SDAN 143/4/5). The records are in Ex to Ex+ condition with minimal markings throughout. Complete with libretto and all additional inserts. The luxurious outer box is in VG+ condition with some minor 'rubbing' to the cushion design.
A Late 17th Century Enclosed Food Cupboard decorated with geometric mouldings and split spindle appliqués (A/F). The top measuring 46 ins x 19¾ ins (117 cms x 50 cms) above a long frieze drawer divided by decorative mouldings into twin panels flanked by pairs of baluster turnings, above two upper & two lower cushion front cupboard doors. The stiles and muntins adorned with further turned appliqués and leading down to turned replacement feet. The sides drilled with perforations, 50 ins (127 cms) high.
A Small William & Mary Oak Cushion Front Chest of Drawers with geometrical mouldings. The three long drawers hung on side groove runners, divided by ornamental split ball-turned beading and fitted with brass pendant handles on petalled mounts. 31½ ins (80 cms) high, 33 ins (84 cms) wide, 22 ins (56 cms) deep.
A Small 17th Century Style Oak & Walnut Coffer. The twin panel lid and arcaded front richly carved with heraldic crests, protuberant cherub heads and scrolling foliage, with caryatids to the pilasters. The cushion front end panels fitted with twin handles. The base housing a drawer, 25 ins (64 cms) high, 31 ins (79 cms) wide, 21½ ins (55 cms) deep.
