A 20th Century Reproduction Dutch Start Clock, of typical form, the bell surmounted by a figure of Atlas, to further cast brass panels over half barleytwist columns on a shaped backboard with two pear-shaped brass weights, to a Roman and Arabic chapter ring with cast brass hands and weight-driven movement with strike on a bell, height 24” 1221. A late 19th Century American Wall Clock, Jerome & Co, the cushion moulded rectangular case set with a panelled glazed door, to a 7 ½” Roman painted square dial with transfer decorated spandrels and steel hands, to a twin weight-driven movement with strike on a coiled gong, height 25 ¾”
A WALNUT CABINET ON CHEST, having a moulded cornice and a cushion drawer with oyster veneer to the frieze above two doors with rectangular and arched veneers, crossbanding and lines of boxwood stringing, the interior later fitted with a half-shelf and mirror lining, the associated lower section having three graduated drawers with brass back plates and swing handles, on ogee bracket feet, 124cm wide x 177cm (constructed from two associated parts, both 18th century with alterations)
AN ARTS & CRAFTS INLAID SATIN WALNUT BREAKFRONT CABINET THE DESIGN POSSIBLY GEORGE JACK FOR MORRIS & CO c1890, with patinated brass loop handles, pierced strapwork hinges and lock plates by Richard Llewellyn Rathbone (1864 - 1939) and inlaid in fruitwoods with elaborate scrolling floral work, chevron and ribbon banding, the cabinet now re-constructed to create a sideboard and a two-tier cabinet: THE BREAKFRONT SIDEBOARD with cushion moulded frieze above two door cupboard flanked by a single drawer to either side, on ten square tapered legs with spade feet joined by stretchers 189 cms wide THE CABINET constructed as a two tier cupboard, the upper section having two leaded glazed doors and side panels of interlocking stylised floral design within a `bullseye` border, the interior mirror and satinwood lined, above two conforming doors, the interior fitted with a satinwood shelf, on later legs, 90cms wide. See illustration NB it is thought that the original design would have been a breakfront superstructure formed as two glazed door cupboard flanked by a single glazed door to either side with ribbon inlaid uprights, above a mirror lined panel back with two square section front supports, on the breakfront lower section.
