Four rare carved wooden items, made by a member of the German Occupying Forces in Guernsey during WWII, comprising an African style dished bowl on three ball feet, 9in. (23cm.) diameter; a small plate with incised a stained tulip decoration and the initials 'LS', 8in. (20.25cm.) diameter; a small oak scoop with short flattened handle, with incised stylised initials to front, 3 7/8in. (9.9cm.) wide; and an oval pine Chinese style covered dish with ruyi style incised decoration to lid, 5½in. (14cm.) long. (4). * The two African and Chinese style pieces in this lot were probably copies of objects seen in properties commandeered by the occupying troops during the Occupation.
Three Chinese punch bowls, a brush pot, yellow jardiniere, plate, blue and white bowl and three carp bowls. Largest diameter 26 cm. CONDITION REPORT: None of these items are in particularly good condition hence the reason they are lotted together. The figural punch bowl has two hairline cracks. The pattern is also rubbed in places. The polychrome bird and foliate fruit bowl has been broken in two areas and professionally but not particularly well restored. The third bowl similarly has old professional restoration and has been broken in several places. The jardinière has been broken into a large number of pieces. The cylindrical vase has a large hairline crack. The blue and white bowl has a hairline crack and visible overpainting and old restoration. The three blue and white fish bowls are modern. The plate has numerous rim nibbles and some overpainting to the rim.
A Copeland Spode pottery part dinner and tea service, decorated in the Chinese Rose pattern, comprising meat platter, dinner plate, seven soup plates, six side plates, one large and seven small fruit bowls, three teapots, one lacking lid, dessert plate, pair of bread plates, teapot stand, one milk and two cream jugs, four sugar bowls, two breakfast cups and four saucers, eight tea cups, thirteen saucers and eight tea plates.

A large circular Delft blue and white plate with foliate decoration; a restored Davenport blue and white transfer decorated circular bowl; a restored pearl ware oval two-handled dish; a Chinese octagonal under glazed blue willow pattern plate; a Wedgwood Jasper ware jug with hinged cover; and a Ringtons blue and white jardiniere.
Chinese blue and white plate, Jiaqing period, painted with a lotus flower and fitted with a Dutch .833 silver swinging handle, date letter 1913, diameter 23cm; also a Chinese Transitional blue and white charger painted with ducks within a border of auspicious symbols, diameter 32cm (extensive pinned repair) (2). Condition report: plate has rim chip, frits and a hairline; the silver is secured by bent over tabs; hallmarks worn but legible. Charger has extensive pinned repairs of cracks and minor frits.
Various Chinese and Japanese lacquer ware, to include a pair of wall plates, 15cm diameter, each of dished outline with gilt highlights, centred by dragons with an outer Greek key style and floral banding, on circular feet, similar plate, another with black outline, two unusual carved hands, embroidered wall hanging, pierced trellis, etc. (a quantity)
Worcester; a mid-18th century octagonal blue and white painted plate in the Chinese style with river landscape in circular and fan-shaped reserves on powder blue ground, with coral decoration to the under rim and faux Chinese character marks in blue, diameter 19cm. CONDITION REPORT Discolouration to underside, particularly to corners. Small area of repair to one corner, overall nicely presented.
Worcester; a pair of c1760 octagonal plates, painted Chinese river landscapes in circular and fan-shaped reserves on powder blue ground, coral decoration to under rim and Worcester faux Chinese character marks in blue, diameter 18cm (2). CONDITION REPORT One plate has multiple chips and discolouration to the corners - underside. The other example is in much better condition.
Bow; a mid-18th century blue and white painted plate decorated in the Chinese style, diameter 17cm and attributed to Bow, a mid-18th century two-pronged fork with blue and white porcelain handle (2). CONDITION REPORT Scratching to front of plate, small chip to bottom middle. 2cm hairline crack to reverse. Fork - 2.5cm crack to top of handle, discolouration to handle in places. Graze to handle.
A pair of early 19th century Chinese export famille rose plates decorated in enamels with floral sprays of peonies and irises, with a border of scrolling foliage and pink flowers, diameter 23cm (2). CONDITION REPORT One plate has two chips to the rim and small hairline crack and the other plate has a star-shaped hairline crack to the base and a couple of small chips two the rim.
Three 19th century Chinese famille rose palette plates; an octagonal example decorated with peonies and fruits and a gilt-heightened duck, with a border of fan-shaped vignettes, diameter 21cm and two famille rose palette plates, both decorated with peonies and other flora, diameter of each 23cm (3). CONDITION REPORT Octagonal plate has numerous minor chips to its rim and a hairline crack, one plate has multiple chips to rim, final plate in much better condition.
