A GROUP OF TWO CHINESE METALWARES, CLOISONNÉ DRAGON PLATE AND GUMP'S LAMP, 20TH CENTURY, comprising an antique parcel-gilt cloisonné footed plate, a writhing blue dragon guards a pearl among white ground clouds, within a ring of lotus and repeating ruyi mushroom band, verso a black ground lily pad pond quivers with lotus blooms and pods, and a partial wax export seal, height: 1 3/8", diameter: 7"; together with a modern Chinese archaic style patinated metal vase lamp, shade marked "Gump's," height: 19", diameter: 12 1/2". Provenance: From the Estate of William Woodford, Houston, Texas. Six antique 18th century Chinese export porcelain dishes, including two famille roses dishes painted with peacocks, two painted with floral patterns, one with a landscape scene, and an Imari style dish, 21.5cm to 22.5cm diameterCondition report: Both peacock dishes are repaired and have some rim fritting. The Imari dish has small chips to the rim and footrim, and a light hairline on the rim. The landscape plate has fritting and a hairline on the rim. One of the floral dishes has some fritting to the rim. The other has a reglued section on the rim, a hairline and some fritting.
A HEAVILY CAST BRONZE TRIPOD CENSER, MING DYNASTY China, 1368-1644. The censer with a compressed globular body raised on three legs issuing from the mouths of horned mythical beasts and a pair of pierced s-shaped handles that flank the neck and flat, everted rim. The neck is finely incised with a circumferential leiwen pattern. Condition: Fair condition with minor wear, casting flaws, a ding to the body, the feet with recesses revealing slag from the casting procedure. Verdigris on the interior and the underside. Minimal losses, some nicks to edges. A piercing to the base has been closed with a metal plate. The handles are detachable and fixed with small modern wood pegs. Provenance: English private collection. Weight: 5.4 kg Dimensions: Diameter 30 cm handle to handle The base is incised with a Chinese inscription which is partly illegible. A GROUP OF THREE SILVER AND SILVER-PLATE BELT ORNAMENTS China and Tibet, 1900 – 1920. Consisting of one lobed Tibetan ornament executed in repoussé with a deer amongst scrolling foliage and set with a turquoise cabochon; one Tibetan circular ornament carved with floral motifs and set with a hardstone; and a Chinese ornament comprising three Yuan Shikai coins set with a central amethyst and loops with dangle Ornaments. The three Chinese plates are at fault, with one example with numerous chips to the glaze and a large piece which has been broken out. The plate with the coloured detail has a large chip and crack running through the body. One of the opaque vases has a chip to the top rim.
