Areas of wear to the glaze on the plate. Plate with wavy rim - Six small and one larger chip to rim. Areas of wear to the glaze, 23cm diameter. Bowl - Areas of wear to the glaze within the bowl. Plate - Several small chips to the rim. Three large hairline cracks. Areas of wear to the glaze. Small chips to the foot rim, 23cm diameter.

A Chinese brass bound rosewood trunk on stand, late Qing Dynasty, of rectangular outline, the corners with brass ruyi-shape mounts, a brass lock plate and padlock, well carved throughout with dragons, bats and shou symbols on a diaper ground, the stand with conforming carving to the shaped apron, raised on square-section supports, 81cm high, 51.5cm deep, 84cm wide.Provenance: Dr H.A.Fawcett collection, thence by descent to the vendor. A gummed paper label to the underside is ascribed to Dr Fawcett by White & Co. furniture depositories, Winchester.Footnote: The colour and grain of the wood to the trunk differs from that of the stand, although the carving conforms exactly, suggesting that the stand is contemporaneous but was possibly made to order.
A Caughley tea bowl painted with the Blown Seed Head pattern, circa 1780, underglaze blue painted S mark, 9cm diameter Literature: Godden, Geoffrey 'Caughley and Worcester Patterns', plate 29, p.183 illustrates a waster from the factory, which appears to be a thickly potted saucer painted with this Blown Seed Head pattern. See also Phillips London, The Watney Collection, Part III, 1st November 2000, lot 1209, for two small bowls similarly decorated in this pattern and Ironbridge 1999 no.111 where it states that these shapes are influenced by the Chinese stem cup shape.Provenance: Originally purchased in 1983 from Pat Ratcliffe, sold later Halls 28th April 2010.

Paladin china Teaset decorated with a border pattern of flowers and gilt comprising six tea cups and saucers, six plates, two bread and butter plates, milk jug and sugar bowl, together with a Davenport tea cup and saucer and a trio of cup, saucer and plate decorated with Chinese figures.

Minor wear to armorial. - Small armorial dish: Has been broken into several pieces and restored. - Famille rose plate: Some frits to underside of rim. Minor enamel wear. - Small famille rose plate: 1in. hairline to rim, small rim chip and glaze chips to rim throughout. Some enamel losses. - Canton famille rose plate: Large filled and repainted rim chip. - Pair of blue and white plates: One has a 2in. hairline to rim, rim glaze chips and chip to footrim. The other has small rim chip and small v-shaped firing crack below rim.

Five unusual Chinese famille rose 'rice-grain' bordered plates, Guangxu period (1875-1908), two finely painted with a boy and geese, the third a deer in a landscape, 22.5cm, the fourth a boy and a scholar in an interior and the last a mythological figure on raft, 21cmThe deer plate in particular shows the influence of the Qianjiang School of painting in the use of more subdued enamel colours and applied inky black of the deer and tree in the background.

Group of Chinese ceramics mainly Canton famille rose including a teapot, dishes, tea bowl, etc. (6) CONDITION REPORT: Teapot has rubbing to the gilding on the body and the lid. Otherwise they appear to be in good condition.The plate has a chip to the rim c2cm x 1cm with hairline running from it. Frits to the rim and three or four hairlines running from the rim.The cup has a firing crack near the joint to the footrim and now has tiny hairlines from it..
