To include: a cup and saucer in the Verandah pattern and a similar cup plate, a Turner Willow platter, a Blue Pheasant platter and sauce boat, a Rose pattern sauce tureen (no lid), a Temple sauce tureen stand and Chinese Landscape pudding bowl. Platters: 23 cm wide. (8)Condition: Small restored under-rim chip to the cup plate, restoration to the Temple stand, break in the rim of the Turner Willow platter and crack to the pudding bowl.

James Caulfield, 1st Earl of Charlemont KP PC (Ire), Irish statesman (1728-1799), was born in Dublin and had a passion for classical culture having spent nine years on a Grand Tour in Italy, Greece, Turkey and Egypt. After his return to Dublin he employed the Scottish architect Sir William Chambers to remodel his main residence Marino House into a unique neo-classical garden pavilion building, the Casino at Marino. He was also the first president of the Royal Academy and in 1793 was made a founding Knight of the Order of St Patrick.
