Purchased in Hong Kong throughout the 1980s and 1990s.Provenance: acquired in Hong Kong, 14th December 1988.漢 青銅鋪首活環耳蓋壺女士藏品。二十世紀八十至九十年代間購置於香港。來源:於1988年12月14日得自香港Condition Report: Expected old wear consistent with age and type include small nicks to extremities, particularly edge of foot and cover, and an insignificant shallow bruise to the edge of the rim and cover, as well as expected encrustations throughout. A possible further shallow bruise to edge of foot. A few of the chain links with cracking.
A Qajar engraved brass kashkul, Persia, 19th century, of typical coco-de-mer form, the ends rising to two pronounced dragon-head terminals, the top profusely engraved with inscription cartouches, flowers and interlacing split-palmette, the opening formed of two molded snakes joining at the mouth, the sides with alternating cartouches containing seated figures and inscriptions, the base with a large central inscription cartouche surrounded by quadrupeds and birds, on a ground of floral sprays, with chain attachment, 35 cm. long.Provenance: Private UK Collection
