With Roman numeral markers, subsidiary seconds and dial signed Renown. Assayed Birmingham 1924. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Watch working. Hair crack to the dial at 10.
A finely built upright dairy engine model with integral 4 wheel trolley base, comprising of large wooden clad boiler measuring 14" tall with 19" chimney above. Combined burner type base with sight glass, water feed valve from brass tank which is side mounted, brass plate on boiler to read "The Dairy Engine" T.R.Holland, Victoria Works, no burner present, the boiler to feed a single brass clad cylinder with 2 1/2" stroke and 1 1/2" bore. Column mounted on a brass entablature which is 11.5" from the trolley base, the columns on a steel plinth with patented plate to read "T.R.Holland No.7, 1981 Burton Works". This plinth houses the crankshaft and spoked overhung 8.25" flywheel. A slip eccentric off the crankshaft drives the supply valves and a mechanical lubricator with reversing gear fitted. The engine also fitted with belt driven ball governor on the steam supply feed. Belts are missing. Boiler has manometer, safety valve on chain pull with whistle mounted, 2 access doors, the trolley with draw bar to measure 23" x 9.5", the height to top of chimney is approximately 40.5"

Doll et Cie, spirit fired steam 'Locomobile' portable engine, Cat. Ref 502/5, we believe c.1920; comprising of single fixed cylinder with boiler mounted double flywheel with some original hand lining, with weighted safety valve, sight glass whistle and boiler draincocks. Doll transfer on cylinder obscure, but has lubricator on valved steam supply. Chain drive to rear wheel, fold down chimney with chain and spark arrestor. Some models had a crank for winding the chimney up and down but this is not the case for this model. The water feed pump is missing and 2 screws indicate where it would have been on the boiler. A gallery is on each side of the boiler with a ladder on one side as expected. A double wick burner is present, this has been over painted, probably a replacement. The fire box door is present with handle. Wear commensurate with age.
