A malachite necklace, set with four malachite stones, three of oval form, together with one of tear drop form, creating a drop pendant, with detachable drop element, on fine link chain, yellow metal, marked 750 to clasp, boxed, 33.2g all in. N.B. Our client advises the drop element was added at a later stage in 9ct, so does not form part of the original necklace.

A Rolex Military Issue Open Faced Nickel Plated Pocket Watch, the silvered dial with Arabic numerals (3, 9 and 12 being luminous), with subsidiary seconds and blued hour and minute hands, screw-off case back stamped 'A. 20318 G.S. MK. II' above broad arrow, case 50mm, upon a gilt-metal Albert chain with T-bar.
Luftwaffe 1st Pattern Officers Dress Dagger, with aluminium mounts. Circular pommel with mobile swastikas to the centre which retain much of the gilt wash finish, blue leather covered grip retaining the original wire binding, cross guard with mobile swastikas to the centre retaining gilt wash finish. Blue leather covered scabbard with aluminium mounts and linked chain hanger with OLC Ges Gesch marked clip. Double edged blade with Carl Eickhorn makers trade mark to the base. Some very light surface staining to the blade. Some wear to the leather covering of the scabbard. Overall a good example.
WW2 Polish Air Force Pilots Badge, being an un-maker marked example, probably British made. Would appear to have been manufactured in silver (not hallmarked). Brooch pin and catch fixing added to the reverse. Loops for the fitting of a chain but no chain is present. Very good condition example.
2x Women’s Land Army Armbands, consisting of an early example constructed from green cloth with crude red felt crown to centre and chain stitched “W.L.A” with embroidered and woven 2 ½ years service triangles. Buttons to the reverse; The other armband is more standard form with embroidered crown over WLA and embroidered service diamonds. The first armband has some moth damage. (2 items)
British 1871 Pattern 5th Dragoon Guards Troopers Helmet, brass shell with laurel leaves decoration. White metal helmet plate of star and central garter with a number 5 within. Original leather backed linked chin chain supported by rose pattern side boss (one missing). Cross piece base and fluted plume holder with red and white horse hair plume. Interior of the helmet retains the original leather liner. Some dents to the shell but generally good untouched example.
Victorian 12th (Prince of Wales Royal) Lancers Other Ranks Lance Helmet, of black leather skull complete with brass other ranks lance cap plate. Red cloth covered mortar board top. Brass lion head side bosses supporting linked brass chin chain. Blue and yellow woollen ball tuft with gilt metal button and red horse hair plume. Interior has much of the original sweatband intact and he original cloth lining. Impressed stampings to the peak. Headdress suffers with service wear and mothing to the red cloth top. Some areas of leather also missing from the top. Well used example.

Large rosette side bosses holding linked chain brass leather backed chinstrap. Red horsehair plume mounted into socket plume holder. Complete with leather liner to the interior. Some light dents to the shell but generally good untouched example.

His mother was Elizabeth Gibson, of the famous Saffron Walden Quaker banking family, and the Midgleys and Gibsons were connected by family ties and shared interests as well as religion. Arthur Midgley was one of those intriguing Victorian figures of a man of substantial independent means, well-travelled and well versed in science and the arts, without any profession, and given over to public service, philanthropy and good causes. Apart from his philanthropic work on a number of national charities, Arthur Midgley was a local Justice of the Peace, town councillor, Secretary of the Saffron Walden Hospital, a Poor Law Guardian, and Chairman of the Boys' British School Managers. He was also a prominent Quaker.
