2nd Punjab Infantry Victorian Officer’s pouch belt and binocular case. A black patent leather belt mounted with silvered lion’s head boss, two strand chain, whistle and holder. Well cast native silver plate, within laurel sprays a crowned strap inscribed “Punjab Infantry”; to the centre, “2” on a burnished silver dome ground; four part scroll entwined with the sprays “Delhi Lucknow Relief and Capture”. Napoleonic War Period Miniature Portrait Painting of a Yeomanry Officer. A fine head and shoulder portrait of an Officer. Dark blue coatee with white facings and silver cord loops to the breast. To each shoulder a silver interlinked chain epaulette. Mounted into a gold coloured oval frame, the reverse with dark blue enamel border and plated hair and initial“B”. Detail and colours good, slight paint loss to the base. Circa 1800. Height 8.5cm The vendor has attributed the artist as N. Freese 1794-1814
5th (Princess Charlotte of Wales’s) Dragoon Guards Officer’s 1871 Pattern Helmet. A fine, scarce example, the fire gilt skull decorated with laurel leaves; to the front a helmet plate of silvered cut star overlaid with a fire gilt title strap P.C.W.Dragoon Guards encircling a silvered 5 against a gilt backing plate. A gilt spike supports a white over red regimental pattern horsehair plume with gilt rose boss. To each side are rose head bosses which support a gilt and red leather backed interlocking chin chain. The interior with quilted material sweatband. Minor dents to skull, gilt remains bright and fresh.
Indian Medical Service Officer’s White Wolseley Pattern Foreign Service Helmet A good and rare Regimental pattern white drill example, complete with eight fold puggaree. The helmet is fitted with a drooping black cockeral feather plume, with gilt holder and leather backed chin chain. The interior with leather sweatband and tailor’s details of Hawkes & Co. London, retailed through Ranken & Co of Calcutta and Simla. .... Complete with gilt base and ball top. ... Good shape and very clean condition. Very slight age wear.
Victorian 6th Inniskilling Dragoons Officer’s 1847 (Albert) pattern helmet. A superb and fine scarce example. The silvered skull, mounted with gilt helmet plate overlaid with silver cut star with the castle of Inniskilling encircled by strap ‘Inniskilling Dragoons’. The plume holder of gilt metal, this supporting a white horsehair plume. Two gilt rose bosses support gilt chin chain with velvet backing. Retaining red leather and silk edged sweatband to the interior. The overall condition is near VGC.

To the front a silvered Armourial Coat of arms, set against a gilt backing plate, Complete with lion head bossed supporting a leather backed chin chain. The interior with leather sweatband. Minor age wear and rust spots to the skull. GC.
Scottish. Lothians and Berwickshire Yeomanry Cavalry Victorian 1871 pattern helmet. A good scarce example possibly NCO’s. Silvered skull decorated with brass thistles; to the front a helmet plate comprising a crowned Garter within thistle sprays; to the centre, the Order of the Thistle Star with central VR Cypher; all resting on thistle spray bearing four part title scroll. Brass fluted spike supports a white regimental pattern horsehair plume. To each side, a brass rose head boss supports the associated leather backed brass chin chain. Peak lined in brown leather. Brown leather lining, with some old worm holes, bearing Cater & Co, 56 Pall Mall,London, paper label. Minor service wear. GC
Irish. Inniskilling Fusiliers OR’s fur cap. A good example of short black fur with regimental pattern brass grenade to the front. To the left side, a horse hair plume. The interior retains leather sweatband and cloth lining. Complete with a leather backed chin chain. Good clean condition, lining a little dry and some bald patches to fur not affecting appearance.
Royal Marines Officer’s White Helmet. A scarce example of the private purchase pattern worn by Officers. The Wolseley style helmet is with six panels, complete with gilt metal ball pattern top. To the front, a post 1905 pattern helmet plate. The interior retains leather sweatband and crimson material edging. Tailor’s impressed stamp of John James & Co. London. Complete with chin chain. The helmet plate remains in bright condition, material to the helmet is now a light tan colour with age ... Contained in original metal storage tin with painted name of “B.H. To the front, a post 1953 pattern Officer’s helmet plate. The interior with sweatband and ink name of Lt Davis. Complete with leather backed chin chain. Overall GC Helmet plate in near unissued condition.
1st VB Warwickshire Regiment Victorian Other Rank’s Green Cloth Home Service Pattern Helmet. A good and rare example, the helmet with blackened furniture comprising: Spike & base, rosehead bosses with support a gimp interlinked chinchain. To the front the original Regimental, Rifle pattern Maltese Cross helmet plate bearing the title “Warwickshire 1 Volr Batn”. The interior with leather sweatband and tailor’s label for “Christy’s”. Overall GC and retaining a good shape. Stitching faults to the chin chain and the leather backing strap is dry.
Welsh. Montgomeryshire Yeomanry Officer’s Victorian Mess Dress. A rare circa 1860’s example. Scarlet cloth jacket with black velvet sloping collar and pointed cuffs, edged all round with silver Russia braid forming an eye at the bottom corners. Hooks and eyes, and white metal studs to front. The cuffs edged with silver chain-gimp. A chain-gimp loop on shoulders, forming a double eye at outer end, and fastened with a white metal button bearing the Welsh Dragon. Two similar buttons above each cuff. Quilted lining with small label inscribed ‘LBW Esq’ ... and companion collarless waistcoat of lightweight scarlet material, edged with thin silver Russia forming eyes at the bottom corners, and white metal studs. Three pockets also trimmed with Russia forming trefoils at ends. Lining inscribed in ink ‘LBW’. Minimal moth. Also a pair of overalls with wide silver lace band of Regimental Pattern. Reverse with vertical needle pin and raised maker’s details of “Fec. Otto Placzek, Berlin. Ausf. Schwerin, Berlin”. VGC ... together with miniature stick pin version. Badge. Royal Warwickshire Regiment Officer’s helmet plate circa 1902-14. A fine gilt example by J & Co. (Jennens). Crowned star mounted with wreathed Garter; the black velvet centre, bearing the Antelope in silver with gilt collar and chain. To the base of the wreath, an applied silver scroll “The Royal Warwickshire Regiment” Three loops to reverse all absent, now with two crudely lead soldered replacements. Antelope secure lug absent, crease to 2, 3 and 4 o’clock star tips otherwise GC.

A scarce set by J & Co (Jennens) bearing ensuite Birmingham hallmarks. Whistle boss of 14 leaves bearing battle honours with Dragon to centre, two strand chain, Egyptian Pharaoh head whistle and thistle mounted whistle holder. Screw posts to reverse. All VGC.
