There are some minor surface marks/tarnish to the gold mounts, and some very minor scratches/scuffs to the mother of pearl plaques visible under 10x magnification, but no other signs of damage or repair. There are some scuffs to the underside of the case. The buttons and collar studs are set with a French cut sapphire, the cufflinks are set with a square step cut sapphire.

An early 19th century gold, pearl and rock crystal sentimental locket brooch/pendant, pertaining to Charles Cockayne 5th Viscount Cullen (1710-1802) and his son Hon William Cockayne of Rushton Hall (1756-1809), composed of a central oval locket with woven hair under crystal with applied gold initials BMC (for Barbara Maria Cockayne (1780-1825) 'Spinster of Rushton Hall') with half-pearl border, surrounded by a further nine smaller lockets with woven hair under crystal each engraved on the reverse with a single initial, to a chain link suspension, circa 1800, width 4.3cm Charles Cockayne 5th Viscount Cullen was born on 2nd September 1710. In 1732 he married Ann Warren they had six children, including the Hon Borlase Cockayne later the 6th Viscount Cullen. Anne died in 1754 and Charles married his second wife Sophia Baxter (1737-1802), with whom he had one son, the Hon William Cockayne (1756-1809). The Hon William Cockayne married Barbara Hill of Rothwell Manor House, Northampton, with whom he had ten children. It is the initials of these ten children, including Barbara Maria Cockayne, that are found on this brooch. Barbara lived at Rushton Hall, Northampton and we believe she probably commissioned the brooch.Provenance: by descent

Some wear between links, but a lot of life left in the chain. The two end swivel clasps are functional and springs feel firm. Wear to the top of the centre swivel clasp, spring still feels firm but a small gap between the two halves of the clasp. Each link individually hallmarked, marks to the links fairly rubbed. A little dirty between links, would benefit from a clean and polish. Suspension loop of Masonic pendant is worn at the sides.

The Art Deco chain is not associated with the pearl tassel. The clasp to the chain is possibly not original. Clasp in good working order and secure. One diamond is lacking from the spectacle setting. The original drop from the chain is lacking.

A group of jewellery, comprising: a late 19th century 9ct gold facetted belcher and trombone link double Albert chain, suspending a gold mounted compass with twisted wire surround and engraved monogram verso, Albert chain length 40cm; a 9ct white gold synthetic spinel set eternity ring, Birmingham hallmarks; and a lady's Everite 9ct gold manual wind bracelet watch, London hallmarks (3)Condition Report: Chain 32.85 grams. Ring 2.06 grams. Watch 14.23 grams. Ring size P. Ring: underneath of settings dirty, would benefit from being cleaned. Some abrasions and facet junction wear to the synthetic spinels. Minor surface marks to the mount and some wear to the rhodium plating, would benefit from being replated. Chain: in a good overall condition. Minimal wear between links. Gold is tarnished in places. Both swivel clasps are functioning and springs feel firm. The chain is not hallmarked, but is stamped on the T bar and swivel clasps 9C, and with maker’s mark WHWLd on the swivel clasps. Compass: surface marks/scratches and a couple of dings verso. Some wear to the suspension hoop. Some chips and scratches to the glazed cover.
