Costello, Maj. Gen. M.J. Irish Army, Southern Command, 1st Division, Cork. Division Routine Orders 1942-43-44-45 (May). & Standing Orders, Southern Command Part II. A thick file of mainly cyclostyled circulars, mostly issued by Gen. Costello (later leader of the Irish Sugar Co.). Copiously indexed in ms. at front. Apparently mostly administrative, but careful research will doubtless uncover matters of interest. ‘In NO circumstances will an Army bicycle be used for PRIVATE purposes.’ (24-31 July 1943). (1)
Rare Ladies Blue Shirt Uniform Fine Gael [Army Comrades]. A woman’s Blue Shirt with elasticated waist, bearing Fine Gael badge with Army Comrades insignia, with separate buckled belt, said to have belonged to a Mrs. Punch. (1) A very rare item, possibly unique. There were no women in the 1930s Army, so the original Army Comrades were by definition male. Membership was later opened to persons who had not served in the armed forces, but there certainly were very few female members.

Unknown Maker - Model of "St Elisabeths Gastruis" - Former Hospital in Arnhem, Netherlands. Originally built as a hospital in 1893, it was used as a casualty clearing station by British army medics in the early stages of the battle of the Arnhem Bridge, before being taken over by the Germans. Today it is an apartment complex. Model appears to be mostly plastic/resin and measures: L51 x W26 x H33cm, weight 1.5kg. Conditions generally appears Excellent overall. See photo.
