WW2 German Army Sonderfuhrer Officers Peaked Cap, scarce example of the peaked cap worn by the special administration section of the German Wehrmacht. The cap has the correct pattern dark blue central band and piping to the crown. Complete with eagle and cockade insignia. The cap also has the correct pattern officers cords with blue fleck. Grey leather sweatband to the interior and grey cloth lining with celluloid makers diamond. Some small areas of moth tracking top the top and rear of the cap but otherwise a nice example of a scarce peaked cap.

WW2 German Army M-35 Steel Combat Helmet, good untouched example of a model 35 steel combat helmet with remains of the original German army decal. Helmet retains a dark combat paint finish to the exterior and interior of the shell. Helmet is complete with its original leather liner system. Shell is stamped “SE62” and “3579”. The leather liner shows some wear and has some splits and damage. Overall a good untouched combat worn example.

WW2 German Army M-35 Steel Combat Helmet, good untouched example retaining a dark combat paint finish to the exterior and interior of the shell. Helmet is complete with its original single German army decal, approximately 85% present. Interior retains its original leather liner and leather chinstrap. Shell stamped “SF64” and “11820”. The helmet is a attic fresh example with the liner and chinstrap still remaining dusty etc. Good example.

WW2 German Army Normandy Camouflaged Steel Combat Helmet, good large size M-40 steel helmet shell which retains over 90% of its original Normandy pattern camouflaged paint finish (sand, green and dark brown). At some point a section of the paint has been removed to reveal an Army decal underneath the paint. Helmet is complete with the original leather liner system to the interior. Helmet is complete with a chinstrap but this is possibly a later replacement. Interior of the shell has a rough textured paint finish indicating that the owner of the helmet probably transferred from another theatre of operations or the helmet was re-issued. Shell is stamped “SE68” and “3477”. Remains of the original owners name can be seen in white to the interior of the shell but this is not clear. Overall a good example of a combat worn Normandy camouflaged steel combat helmet.

Very Rare German Army Feldgendarmerie Railway Carriage Security (Zugwachabteilung) Gorget, kidney shaped silver painted gorget with luminous painted army pattern eagles, 511 and scroll with gothic lettering Zugwachabteilung. Complete with one hook fitting to the reverse. Missing its backing paper / cloth. Some scratches and paint loss to the obverse but generally a good example of an extremely rare gorget. The role of these troops were to actually ride on the various railway trains across Nazi occupied Europe looking for deserters, escaped POW’s and to defend against sabotage and partisan attacks.

WW2 German Eastern Front Carved Wolchow Stick, with geometric designs and large Iron Cross to the centre. Dated 1943 and with “OSTFRONT SMOLENSK”. This example has had a later applied brass cap from a cartridge mounted to the end. Measures 86cms in length. These items were carved by locals on the Eastern Front and often purchased as gifts for officers who were either leaving the regiment or leaving the Eastern Front itself. The city of Smolensk is situated 220 miles south-west of Moscow. On July 16th 1941 the Germans captured the city and repulsed Russian counter attacks. In late 1943 Goring ordered the total destruction of the city in lines with the scorched earth policy, but this order was ignored by Generaloberst Gotthard Heinrici, resulting in his dismissal as commander of the town. The city was liberated by the Red Army on 25th September 1943 and was given the rare title of Hero City.

WW1 British Wolds Waggoner’s Army Service Corps Sleeve Badge, fine green felt eight spoke wheel on red felt backing cloth. Good uniform removed example. The Wagoner’s Special Reserve was raised as a Territorial Army unit in 1912 from labourers and farm workers from across the Yorkshire Wolds. During WW1 1,127 men from the unit were called up to serve in the Army Service Corps and Royal Engineers, they served mostly on the Western Front. They were tasked with moving important Military equipment and supplies.

Great War British Officers 1914-15 Star Medal Trio 10th London Regiment, awarded to “2. LIEUT W C BARHAM 10-LOND R”, British War and Victory medals have rank of “CAPT”. Medals are mounted for display. Captain Barham was educated at Alleyns School, Dulwich. He was a member of the London University OTC pre war. He was commissioned into the 10th Battalion London Regiment and was sent to Gallipoli, landing at Sulva Bay on 31st July 1915. He was evacuated from Gallipoli due to dysentery on 21st August 1915. He was later wounded in action on 1st December 1917. He later in 1918 gained a permanent commission in the Indian Army, serving with the XI Rajput Regiment.

Worn in many of the various camps set up in the early occupation of Germany to hold political and military prisoners waiting to stand trial or give evidence at the International Military Tribunal trials at Nuremberg. Fine Officers 1855 Pattern Shako 26th Regiment of Bengal Native (Light) Infantry, superb example of the black beaver skin covered body shako with sunken patent leather top, front and rear peaks. Superb quality officers regimental shako plate retaining nearly all of the original fire gilt wash finish. Lion head side bosses holding linked velvet backed officers chin chain. Top rosette hook and medusa head fitting to the rear. Shako is complete with its original gilt metal plume socket holder and woollen ball plume. Interior retains the original sweatband and officers style lining, this shows some service wear and the lining has come loose in places. One small crack to the patent top. Shako is housed in its original metal storage tin with brass name plaque “Capt H Blaquier”. Overall a very good example of a scarce item of headdress from the Indian Army. The 26th regiment of Bengal Native (Light) Infantry mutinied at Mean Meer in May 1857 during the Indian Mutiny. They were massacred at Ajnala 30th July - 1st August 1857, with 42 members of the regiment being blown from the guns at Lahore.

Black patent leather peak with gold bullion oak leaves, black patent leather chinstrap and General’s gilt buttons. Gold embossed ‘Hawkes & Co.’ label to the interior. Old label inside with handwritten inscription ‘Lt.General Sir William Pulteney’. Very slight wear to the khaki silk sweatband and some tarnishing to the gold braid, otherwise a very good condition example. Sir William Pulteney (1861-1941), GCVO, KCB, KCMG, DSO, had joined the Oxford Militia in 1878, transferring to the Regular Army, Scots Guards in 1881, serving in Egypt at the Battle of Tel-el-Kebir, and later in India. During the Boer War he took part in the Battles of Belmont, Enslin, Modder River & Magersfontein, finishing the War with the rank of Colonel. Pulteney had an extensive operational career during WW1, commanding the III Corps on the Western Front continuously from 31 August 1914 through to 19 February 1918. Pulteney commanded XIII Corps in the United Kingdom from 20 February 1918 to 15 April 1919.

The helmet is complete with its original oilskin liner and leather chinstrap. The helmet has a label which states the helmet belonged to “Wm A YEOMAN SERVICE NO M/299298 MT ARMY SERVICE CORPS”; WW1 British “A” pattern steel combat helmet shell with just remains of the original apple green paint finish to the shell, inside fitted with a leather chinstrap and painted in white “MESSINES RIDGE 1917-18”; WW1 “B” pattern rimless brodie helmet shell which has been excavated and re-painted, large impact dent to the top of the shell. Painted inside “YPRES 1917 WIPERS”, comes with a label with inked details of its history. (3 items)

Unusual Sealed Pattern Royal Signals Songkok Headdress, green velvet material with no badge fitted but with sealed pattern label having ink stamps and remains of the wax seal. Cloth lining to the interior with zig-zag design pattern. Mint un-issued condition. This pattern of headdress was worn by Locally Enlisted Personnel (LEP) of the FARELF, the men were issued with standard British Army uniform but they were allowed to wear this type of Muslim headdress.

Rare Great War East Africa Campaign Meritorious Service Medal (M.S.M) Group of Five Royal Garrison Artillery, consisting of 1914-15 star “29755 GNR W G JONES R.G.A”, British War and Victory medals “29755 GNR W G JONES RA”, George V Army Long Service Good Conduct medal “1403847 SJT W G JONES R.A” and George V Meritorious Service Medal (M.S.M) “29755 SJT W G JONES R.G.A”. Medals are mounted for wear, some contact marks. Gunner Jones medal index card (M.I.C) states that he served overseas from 20th September 1915. The MSM appeared in the London Gazette on 29th August 1918, awarded for valuable services rendered with the force in East Africa. One of only 9 MSM awarded for service in East Africa to the Royal Garrison Artillery.

Curved single edged blade which has fuller to back edge and is etched with foliage, NSDAP style eagle, crossed rifles behind German helmet and blued central panel with in gothic script “Stab Art Regt.22”, rear of the blade etched with scene of a horse drawn artillery gun team, foliage, German army eagle and crossed swords behind helmet. WKC makers trade mark to the base of the blade. The blade measures 83 ½ cms, overall 99cms. Some rusting to the scabbard but otherwise a very nice presentation sword.

Attached to the grip is the original officers dress portepee. Housed in its original scabbard with two hanging rings which hold the velvet backed officers hanging straps. Very good condition blade with much of the original polish and cross graining remaining. To the base of the blade is the WMW Waffen trade mark. Blade measures 24 ½ cms, overall 39 ½ cms. Some plating bubbling and wear to the hanging straps and portepee.

Rare Personalised German Army Generals Dress Dagger with Engraved Presentation Blade by Richard Plumacher Sohne, fine example of a standard pattern German army officers dress dagger with orange celluloid grip, top pommel with fine oak leaves relief, eagle cross guard, reverse engraved with initials of the original owner “W K”. Double edged blade with etched foliage and panel to the centre “Unserem Kameraden Der Regimentsstab” in gothic script. Reverse side of the blade is etched with foliage pattern and makers trade mark of Richard Plumacher Sohne. Some surface staining to the blade. Accompanying the dagger is the original pair of army generals hanging straps with the metal fittings having a gilt wash finish. Straps have velvet backed and gilt in the brocade braid. Overall a very good untouched example.

WW2 German Army “In Memory of My Service” Engraved Blade Parade Bayonet by F W Holler, standard short model parade bayonet with two piece black chequered grips and plated eagle head top. Housed in the original black painted scabbard. Partially double edged blade with fuller to back edge and one side having etched panel with “Fur Erinnerung an Meine Dienstzeit” and scenes of a machine gun team, artillery gun crew and panzer tank. Trade mark for F W Holler Solingen to the base of this side of the blade. Reverse of the blade is plain but for “JOH HALL DONAUESCGINGEN”. Blade remains in good condition. Blade measures 19 ½ cms, overall 35cms. Some paint loss to the scabbard but overall a good example.

Housed in its original scabbard with leather hanging frog attached. Blade etched to one side with German army down winged eagles with swastika’s in talons, oak leaves and scroll with “Fur Erinnerung an Meine Dienstzeit”. Opposite side of the blade has makers trade mark for Carl Eickhorn Solingen. Blade retains much of the original polish. Blade 20cms, overall 34 ¾ cms.

Rare Free City of Danzig Land Customs Officials Dress Dagger with Hanging Straps by Carl Eickhorn, standard Third Reich type customs dress dagger but the cross guard has the eagle polished out and reverse has the coat of arms of the Free City. Green leather covered grip with original wire binding, aluminium army style pommel and ferrel with oak leaves design. Standard land customs pattern scabbard with green leather covering between the metal fittings. Attached to the scabbard is an original pair of green velvet backed land customs hanging straps with metal clip fittings. Plain double edged blade with Carl Eickhorn Solingen makers trade mark to the base. The blade measures 25cms, overall 40cms. Some plating lifting to the fittings and scuffing to the leather. The Free City of Danzig existed between 1920 and 1939. It was created after the treaty of Versailles in 1919. The region was in between Germany and Poland, but 98% of the population were German, 1% Polish and 1% other. The city was not part of Germany or Poland, but once Germany invaded Poland the region was incorporated into Danzig-West Prussia. Many of the Polish and Jewish citizens of the city and surrounding areas were forced into slave labour or sent to concentration camps. At the end of the war the city was heavily engaged and many of its German citizens were forced to flee the Soviet Russian Red Army, those who stayed were harshly treated or killed. At the end of the war Danzig became part of Poland.

Mounted onto a marble base with engraved brass presentation plaque, awarded in 1931 by the NCO’s and enlisted men of Sanitätsstaffel Frankfurt (0der) to Generalarzt Dr Gerlach. Statue stands 30cms tall.
