Lived Odd Down, Bath.
Parachute Regiment group mounted as worn - CSM QE2 with Northern Ireland clasp (24146289 Pte K H Jacklin PARA), UN Cyprus Medal, South Atlantic Medal with Rosette 1982 (24146289 SSgt K H Jacklin PARA), and QE2 Regular Army LSGCM (24146289 SSgt K H Jackllin PARA). Served with 3 Para. Keith Henry Jacklin was born at Fakenham, Norfolk. GVF (4)
India General Service Medal 1854 clasp Burma 1889-92 (2/Devon Regt), 1915 Star Trio (York Regt) to (Sgt) William James Gill. Gill was born Saugor, India, 1868, son of Thomas Gill, Conductor, Commissariat Dept; enlisted Devon Regt 1890, discharged India 1902. Volunteered with 1/Yorkshire Regt at Rawalpindi some time after August 1914. Later transferred to S&T Corps. Killed/Died Battle of Ctesiphon 22 Nov-1 Dec 1915. Commemorated Basra Memorial. Lot includes birth record from India Office, Army Service Record (WO 97/4933), MIC and WO 329 copies. Together with a copy of an OMRS Summer 1999 article describing the medals p117. Victory Medal erased, 1939-45 Star, France & Germany Star, Defence & War Medals + MID, 1937 Coronation Medal, GV Regular Army LSGCM (5373475 W.O.CL.II. W P Warnock Oxf & Bucks L.I.), and GV Meritorious Service Medal (swivel type) (28750 Sjt W P Warnock 1/Oxf & Bucks L.I.). MBE L/G 21/1/1916. MID L/G 10/5/1945. MSM L/G 3/1/1920 'for services rendered with the British Forces in North Russia, Archangel Command'. One of only three Archangel Awards of the MSM to the Regiment. He ended the Second World War with the rank of Major (Q.M.) and was a well known character in the regiment, known as 'Popeye'. Born Colchester. With lots of copied research. VF-GVF (10)

A Russian Imperial Brunswick percussion Carbine by Malherbe dating: mid-19th Century provenance: Russia Round, rifled, 17 mm cal. barrel provided with adjustable rear-sight and clutch for the bayonet; hollow nozzle. Backwards spring lock signed "P. J. MALERBE A LIEGE", outlined border. Wooden full stock with brass mounts, an oval plaque at the back with the monogram of the Tsar "N I" under crown. Complete with brass-tipped, iron ramrod. A very scarce variation with no patchbox. It was manufactured for an elite unit of the Russian Army.
