British Edward VII 1845 Pattern Infantry Officer's Sword, etched blade 32.5", regulation brass hilt, in its leather covered field service scabbard with inked inscription ‘R W D Leslie RAMC'. Good condition, blade worn, extreme tip of scabbard missing. ** Robert Walter Dickson Leslie started his military career as a Lieutenant in the RAMC in 1906. He served in Crete and Malta before the outbreak of WW1. He ended the First World War with the rank of Major. He retired from the army in 1941 with the rank of Major General.

Also accompanied by a white metal and brass forage cap badges worn by the Hampshire regiment. Many of these badges are the examples illustrated on pages 160-165 of History of the British Army Infantry Collar Badge by Colin Churchill Fig 998 -1012, Fig 1014 and 1044. 7th Battalion Hampshire Regiment Collar Badges consisting of four gilt brass examples with lug fittings on reverse, four bronzed OSD examples with lug fittings on the reverse, six plastic examples worn by the New Forest detachment ACF, two white metal examples with lug fittings on the reverse, two officers silver versions (not hallmarked) and four anodised examples. All remain in good condition. These actual badges are illustrated on pages 164 & 165 of History of the British Army Infantry Collar Badge by Colin Churchill Fig 1033 -1037. (22 items)

Scarce T.A.N.S (Territorial Army Nursing Service) Printed Slip on Shoulder Title, black lettering on khaki backing. Missing the tape on reverse. These titles are always normally embroidered so scarce to find printed variation.

Very Rare WW2 4th Independent Company Army Commando Formation Sign, in embroidered cloth being the standard design 55th Division formation sign with embroidered 4 to the lower centre section. The insignia shows evidence of being removed from a uniform. ** This item was given to Colin Churchill during WW2 by an army commando who was billeted in his family home in Dorchester.
