Champions 1961, awarded to R Walton, a similar example suspending a swivel fob and a vesta case and another "Services" army example (3).

Paul Ayshford, Lord Methuen (British, 1886-1974) Corsham Park signed in pencil (lower left) pastels 29.5cm x 46.5cm. Provenance: Ernest, Brown and Phillips, The Leicester Galleries, London; Humphrey Case (Keeper of Antiquities at the Ashmolean until 1982). Exhibited: Ernest, Brown and Phillips, Exhibition of works by Lord Methuen at The Leicester Galleries, March 1947, No. 4. Humphrey Case had a very bad motorcycle accident whilst serving in the Army. He was invalidated out to Corsham Court, where he met Lord Methuen at this point and the purchase of the paintings ensued thereafter.
