[RUSSIAN PRINCELY FAMILY] A LATE 19TH CENTURY RUSSIAN SILVER FIDDLE AND THREAD PATTERN SOUP LADLE BY SAZIKOV 1877-82 cursive script mark, International medal winners mark, Moscow 1882, 84 zolotniki, Imperial warrant, engraved with an armorial under a crown, 35.5cm (14in) long, 357g (11.45 oz)These engraved arms can be identified as belonging to a Russian Prince. The arms belong to the descendants of Sergey Grigorievich VOLVONSKY (1788-1865) who married to Maria RAYEVSKAYA.Prince Sergey was a grandson of Field Marshal Nicholas Repnin, a leading statesman during Catherine the Great's reign. He was a Major General in the Russian Army during the Napoleonic Wars and took part in the December conspiracy of 1825 and despite being sentenced to be beheaded had his sentence commuted to life in prison: as an exile for thirty years in Siberia. He was allowed to return in 1856 on the accession of Alexander II. He lived the remainder of his life with his wife Maria in the village of Voronki (Little Russia), which was owned by their daughter. He was a cousin of Leo Tolstoy.

A rare George II mallet shaped seal wine bottle for 'Lord Blantyre' c.1730, kick up base, 17cm high.This bottle would of been made for Robert Stewart, 7th Lord Blantyre (1681-1743) Lord Blantyre was a title of the period, Scotland created in 1606 for the title of lord Steward. The lordship was named for Blantyre priory in Lancashire. The main residences associated with Lord Blantyre were Eeskine, Lenoxlove House and Place of Cardonald. When Bonnie Prince Charlie and his army of Jacobite were on their way to invade Carlisle in 1745, they passed through Blantyre and went down the Perth Brae on their way to Carlisle. It was usual for armies on the march to pillage the land as they passed, taking cows, pigs, chickens, and anything else they needed, On passing through Blantyre, Bonnie Prince Charlie commanded that nothing should be taken as this was Stuarts land, referring to Lord Blantyre, Walter Stuart, 8th Lord Blantyre.

1970's U.S. Gerber Mk II Fighting Knife, double edged steel blade with serated section, maker marked to one side of ricasso, serial number 076140 to the other side, aluminium handle, held in leather scabbard, designed by U.S. Army Captain Bud Holzman in 1966 the knives were used extensively by U.S. soldiers during the Vietnam War, the number on this knife puts the year of manufacture as 1979
Scarce unit marked British 1903 Pattern bayonet by Mole, steel blade stamped on one side of ricasso with maker name, broad arrow and Birmingham proof mark, on the other with date 3 '05 and Imperial crown over E.R. ( Edward VII), pommel stamped with 'M' for militia and 'R.J.A.' for the Royal Jersey Artillery, held in leather scabbard with steel mountings, the Militia in Jersey came under the Army Act in 1905 and at this time it consisted of the Royal Jersey Artillery with two field batteries and two garrison companies, a Corps of Militia Engineers, a Militia Medical Company and three battalions of Light Infantry

Grouping of ephemera realating to Field Marshal Sir Bernard Montgomery, including a photograph album dated 7th May 1967 presented to Mr Derek Jewell by the Military Museum Alamein, Mr Jewell was a Writer, Broadcaster, Critic, and Publishing Director at The Times newspaper, in 1967 on the the 25th Anniversary of the Battle of Alamein he joined Field Marshal Montgomery in the desert for a magazine series and a book 'Alamein and the Desert War', the album contains captioned photographs of exhibits in the museum (interestingly one of which is incorrect), also included are four large size press release photographs of the visit, a first edition copy of 'Alamein and the Desert War' with Mr Jewells name included in the publishing details, a British 2nd Army Thanksgiving Service booklet commemorating the end of the campaign in North West Europe, and a picture supplement from the 'News Guardian' dated 1st December 1945 relating to a visit made by Montgomery to the Guards Armoured Division, (qty)

Second World War metal and enamel sign, this type of sign was used on the ammunition crates that held the ammunition for the Northover Projector which was a primitive anti tank weapon used by the British Army and Home Guard in the dark days after Dunkirk, it fired standard hand and rifle grenades and also the No76 Special Incendiary Grenade , a glass bottle containing white phosphorus and also known as the SIP (Self Igniting Phosphorus) Grenade or A.W. Bomb, these grenades had a tendency to break inside the barrel damaging the weapon (and crew!), corners of the sign appear to have been repainted where the enamel has chipped off, 30.5 cm x 20 cm
