A sapphire and diamond cluster ring, the circular mixed-cut sapphire collet set within a border of old and single-cut diamonds, stamped '18CT & PLAT', ring size RCondition report: The sapphire has a pale purplish-blue hue and contains a small central mineral inclusion. The sapphire has surface wear and measures approx. 3.5mm diameter x 2.3mm depth. Diamonds have variable colour and clarity, some stones with chips, fractures and surface-reaching fractures, some stones drawing greyish or yellowish tints. Estimated SI2 to P3 clarity and I to M colour, assessed mounted. The mount has surface wear throughout, with heavier wear to the edges and sides of the setting and the shank is possibly replaced, having solder joins at the junctions to the setting. Gross weight approx. 1.9gm.

The sapphire is not tested for natural/synthetic origin and so it is possible that the sapphire is synthetic. The sapphire is not tested for use of treatments. The sapphire appears to have a relatively good transparency and an even mid to dark blue hue. Diamonds are slightly variable, some stones with greyish and yellowish tints, and some stones have chips/fractures or multiple inclusions. Estimated SI1 to P3 clarity and I to M colour, assessed mounted. The edges of the setting are worn, with thinning and splits in places, and the shank is scuffed and chipped. The shank appears to be replaced and has yellowish solder joins at the junctions with the setting, and a re-sizing solder join to the back. Both the setting and shank are tarnished. Metal standard is untested. Gross weight approx. 3gm. Length of setting approx. 1.15cm.

Rubies are slightly variable, of light to mid pinkish-red hues, containing natural inclusions and some surface-reaching fractures/fissures visible under magnification. Sapphires are variable, some stones with a near-opaque appearance and colour zoning/natural inclusions visible under magnification. Sapphires and rubies have surface wear, scuffs and nicks. The diamond has a surface-reaching fracture/chip but is relatively bright. Scuffs, scratches and nicks/small chips throughout the mount and scuffs/nicks to the enamel decoration. The pin and visor catch are functioning. Gross weight approx. 14gm.

A pink sapphire and diamond dress ring, the oval mixed-cut pink sapphire in foiled closed-back setting, to an earlier scroll decorated mount with table-cut diamond set shoulders, ring size approximately P - QCondition report: The ring mount is possibly Georgian in date, with later repairs to the setting, shoulders and shank, and the pink sapphire appears to be later replaced. The pink sapphire has light surface wear and nicks, probably with a coloured foil backing, and measures approx. 8mm width x 5mm length. Diamonds have a dull yellowish-greyish apeparance, with discolouration of the foil backing, and both are chipped. The ring mount is heavily worn and one of the scrolled shoulders has discoloured, due to repair. The back of the shank has been re-sized with a later added panel. Gross weight approx. 2.6gm.
