An early 20th century sapphire and diamond five-stone ring, the central round old cut diamond weighing approximately 0.10 - 0.15 carats, flanked by round mixed cut sapphires and mixed cut diamonds, all collet set in yellow metal to a plain polished shank, stamped '18ct', ring size P, weight 3.0gmsCR; One the central diamond, there is a small fracture/chip running from the girdle to the edge of the table, visible under 10x. One of the outer diamonds has a surface reaching fracture, visible under 10x under reflected light. The sapphires show heavy scratching/wear, with nibbles to the facet edges. There is splitting, heavy scratching and wear to the settings, but stones appear secure. Shank is in good order, showing minor misshaping, scratching and wear commensurate with age and use but no signs of splitting or repair. See pictures for further illustration.

A Victorian diamond and sapphire ring, the central rectangular mixed cut sapphire with canted corners, 3.83mm x 3.24mm x 1.80mm, flanked by an old cut diamond to each side, all claw set in yellow metal, to engraved scrolling shoulders and plain polished shank, ring size H 1/2, weight 2.4gmsCR; Central sapphire shows heavy abrasion and nibbling to the girdle and facet edges, and some scratching the the facets. Both diamonds have a few chips/losses, mostly around the girdles. Claws and setting are in good order, stones are secure. Shoulder detail is crisp and in good order. Shank shows moderate thinning, scratching and general wear - no splitting, resizing or repair.
An Art Deco sapphire and diamond ring, the central rectangular cushion cut blue sapphire measuring 11.6mm x 10.6mm x 6.0mm (weighing 5.99 carats), claw set in 18ct white gold to diamond set stepped shoulders, continuing to a plain polished 18ct white gold shank, ring size N, weight 4.7gms, with an accompanying blue leather box for 'Hamilton & Co Ltd Jewellers & Silversmiths Calcutta, Delhi & Simla' Condition Report; Very small nibble to the girdle above the bottom left claw as pictured. No other cracks, chips or nibbles. Very light scratching and wear to central stone. All diamonds are present and in tact, no cracks, chips or losses. All claws and settings appear secure, no splitting, thinning or signs of repair. Shank shows some scratching and wear, commensurate with age and use, but no thinning, spitting or repair.No evidence of heat treatment to the sapphire.This sapphire is accompanied by a certificate by The Gem and Pearl Laboratory (21739) stating that the stone is natural and no heat treatment has been observed - it does not indicate origin.Under 10x there is no obvious windowing and no obvious colour zoning. There are several, fine needle-like inclusions running diagonally across the stone through the table, visible at 10x. They are visible with naked eye, though far less obvious.Diamonds don't show an obvious draw of colour with the naked eye, possibly a slight draw of colour under 10x. Average clarity SI.
