A cultured pearl necklace with gem set clasp, comprising two strands of graduated cultured pearls, to an openwork lozenge-shaped clasp, millegrain set with a circular mixed-cut sapphire bordered by rose and lasque-cut diamonds, white precious metal mounted, (sapphire untested for natural/synthetic origin), shortest length 43.5cmCondition report: The cultured pearls have scuffs, nicks, pitting and blemishes to the nacre surface, with grease and dirt residue, and graduate from approximately 8.5mm to 5.5mm in diameter. Stringing is frayed in places. The clasp is currently functioning and has surface wear. The sapphire has surface scuffs and nicks and is untested as natural/synthetic. Diamonds have a typically greyish appearance, some stones with chips and fractures. Dimensions of clasp approx. 1.85cm length x 0.9cm width. Gross weight approx. 51gm.

Three gem set dress rings, comprising a diamond and green stone panel ring, the old brilliant-cut diamond bordered by rectangular-cut green stones to the cardinal points, framed by flowerheads and foliage, two colour precious metal mounted, a late Victorian half pearl half hoop ring, 18ct gold mounted, hallmarked for Birmingham 1889, (one half pearl deficient, half pearls untested for origin), and a sapphire and diamond cluster ring, 9ct gold mounted, ring sizes P½, M½ and O respectively (3)Condition report: First ring: green stones are heavily chipped and abraded and will require replacement. The diamond is bright and lively, weighing approx. 0.20ct. Heavy wear to mount and setting, thinning to underside of setting and to sides of shank, due to wear against another ring. Mount unmarked and untested. Gross weight approx. 4.8gm. Second ring: one half pearl missing, heavy wear and fractures to surface of other half pearls. General wear to mount. Gross weight approx. 3.9gm. Third ring: Scattered small chips to sapphires, surface wear to stones and mount. Gross weight approx. 1.2gm.

A sapphire crescent bar brooch, designed as a crescent moon of graduated oval and cushion-shaped mixed-cut sapphires in claw settings, to a similarly set bar with bead terminals, yellow precious metal mounted, (later fitting) length 4.7cmCondition report: Sapphires have slightly variable greyish and purplish-blue hues and most contain inclusions that are visible to the naked eye, including areas of angular colour zoning, feathers, fractures and mineral inclusions. Sapphires have chips/nicks and scuffs to the surface, commensurate for use, and graduate from approximately 5.5mm length x 4.5mm width to 3.5mm length x 2.5mm width. The mount has signs of general wear, with patchy wear to the tips of the claws, and the fittings are later, having dark solder joins at the junctions to the mount. Some of the claws may require re-tipping. The brooch pin is currently functioning. Metal standard is untested. Gross weight approx. 5.1gm.

A sapphire and diamond panel ring, the square step-cut sapphire millegrain set within a border of graduated single-cut diamonds, two colour precious metal mounted, total diamond weight approximately 0.25ct, ring size O½Condition report: The sapphire has a dark greenish-blue hue and contains multiple fracture and fissure inclusions, with areas of whiteish colour zoning, visible under magnifcation. The sapphire has surface abrasion, a small surface chip and measures approx. 5.3mm in length x width and 4mm depth. Diamonds are fairly bright and lively with slightly variable colour and clarity, some stones with small nicks/chips and surface-reaching fractures, estimated SI1 to P2 clarity and H to K colour, assessed mounted. The mount has surface wear throughout and the edges of the setting have patchy wear and thinning, with small losses of metal in places. The lower half of the shank appears to be replaced and the outer sides of the setting are worn. The shank has an indistinct stamped mark. Metal standard is untested. Gross weight approx. 2.2gm.

The sapphire and rubies contain areas of angular whiteish colour zoning and feather/fracture inclusions. Diamonds are mostly bright and lively but some stones have a greyish, fractured appearance. One diamond is missing. The pearl is untested for natural/cultured/freshwater origin and has scuffs, pits and blemishes to the nacre surface. The mount has surface wear, scuffs, nicks/chips and areas of porosity and some tarnishing. The porosity may be due to solder repairs. The brooch pin and visor clasp are currently functioning but the clasp may be later replaced. Metal standard is untested. Date of manufacture unknown. Gross weight approx. 6.4gm.
