The records are generally VG+ to Ex+. Please note that all sleeves will contain archival stickers from the BBC. The majority of these stickers are 'on top' of the plastic with some 'underneath' (i.e. on the sleeve itself). Some sleeves have been 'laminated' either by way of 'punching' the plastic wallet to two parts of the sleeve or by fully wrapping the plastic to the sleeve - generally G to VG.

A George III needlework sampler, by Sarah Howels, dated November 8th 1802, worked in multicoloured silks on a canvas ground, depicting two houses, figures, birds and dogs around a vase of blossoming flowers, with alphabet, deer, verse and strawberry vine border,41 x 34cm, framed and glazedCondition ReportFrame size - 46 x 38cm. Knocks, scuffs and wear to the frame and the rope needs replacing. The sampler is in good condition overall with no noticeable holes. The stitches appear good but colours have faded. There are some pointed brown marks to the edges, possibly from historic framing. Light foxing spots.

A framed 18th century sampler, dated 1779 by SS., worked in fine cross stitch with motifs of angels, figures, flowers, trees birds a fox and a stag surrounding a house with initials APB. 39cm x 37.5cm. Condition - the embroidery and backing are good but the backing cloth is badly stained which maybe professionally cleaned
A wide mahogany framed sampler by Ann Whitehouse dated 1834, worked in coloured silks on a fine linen ground, in small stitches, bordered with a geometric stylistic vining pattern, set with a central verse, above her name and date, the sampler also embroidered with spot floral motifs, 31.5cm wide x 41cm high. Condition - the verse has a dark patch, there are other patches, the colours have faded in sunlight but stitching and background are undamaged or holed. The frame is good, the slip has gilt missing.
A simple finely embroidered early 19th century sampler dated 1801 by Nicholas Scott. An unusual sampler embroidered by a boy at that time, as most were embroidered by young girls, 23.5cm wide x 30cm high. Condition - there are a few rust stains and damage to the fabric at the bottom and to right of the border.
A gilt framed finely worked Regency gauze sampler, by Amelia Artus, aged 8 years, dated 1813, worked on fine gauze with coloured silk threads, with a large central panel having a long verse, two motifs of cornucopia, potted flowers and dogs and a central cartouche with her name, age and date below, surrounded by a wide embroidered border., 39cm wide x 30cm high. Condition - the sampler embroidered on gauze is unusual but mounted on patterned paper makes the imagery hard to define, re-mounted on white card would enhance it. There is some fading to some colours due to sunlight, but there appears to be no moth or damage to the fabric or silk stitching. The frame has gilding missing.
