Provenance The David Coachworth and Peter Myers Collection.

Adam and Eve Sampler Worked by Ann Williams, Age 10 Dated 1807, highly decorated with religious verse to the top, flanked by a pair of decorative vases with flowers and birds and flowers above, variety of animals to the Adam and Eve scene including lion, butterfly, birds, dogs, stag, snake, within a red floral border, edged with woven zig zag trim in gold and black silk threads, modern frame, 32cm by 49cm. Some of the dark threads worn to the butterflies, religious verse, some running of the red threads to the upper part and the green possibly run to the tree on the right hand side at the bottom corner, several holes around the border, also a couple to the Adam and Eve scene, staining to the bottom left hand corner, slight fading.

A Small Victorian Adam and Eve Sampler Worked by Ann Barratt, with verse 'Lord give me wisdom to direct my ways, I beg not richs nor yet length of days, my lifes a span the time it as to last mixt with frost and shok with evry blast', incorporating Adam and Eve, butterflies, stag, figures, tree and plants, small cottage, within a red and blue floral border, in an oak frame, 36cm by 31cm. Slight discolouration to the backing cloth, green/blue flowers to the border have 'bled' on the left hand side, and also to the black thread verse. Small hole to the left of Eve and to the border right hand side under the last word. Fading and wear to the upper margin. There is a fliwer to the bottom left hand side that the threads are rubbed and general wear overall - see extra images.
