Medical History - Bilz (F.E.), The Natural Method of Healing: A New and Complete Guide to Health, F.E. Bilz, Leipzig [1901], two-volume set, iv + 2074pp [over the two parts], pull-out folding anatomical chromolithographic plates throughout, conforming two-page sanatorium advertisement to volume I, period buckram boards tooled as issued with title, author and his sanatorium at Radebeul nr. Dresden, 8voFriedrich Eduard Bilz (1842-1922) became interested in naturopathic medicine while trading as Kolonialwarenladen merchant in his native Arnsdorf. Eventually his erudite interest manifested itself in print with Das Neue Naturheilverfahren (The New Natural Healing) in 1888; a book that became very popular and was translated into twelve lanaguages - of which this lot is the second English edition. By 1895 a health spa was founded at Radebul - soon to become a large sanitarium and colloquially known as Bilzbad - to which was added a wave machine/pool in 1912 after its display at the Dresden International Hygiene Exhibition the previous year. Bliz has sunk into obscurity in recent times, along with his soft-drink Bliz-Brause.

A 1987 Ford Escort 1300 L three door, registration D918 APF, chassis number SFABXXBBABHK23590, engine number HK23590, Maritime blue. With 18,470 (not 18,000) miles from new, this matching numbers time warp condition Escort had one lady owner until June 2015, with two registered keepers since. The car was supplied by Page Motors (Leatherhead) Ltd to Aldersons Garage the distributing dealer to Mrs H J Taylor. Mrs Taylor would use Aldersons for all of the Fords servicing during her ownership (service book containing 14 stamps), with the last being carried out on 04/02/14 at 18,110 miles. Presented in very original condition with its dealer supplied owner's wallet containing the stamped service book, owner's handbook, radio operation manual, warranty booklet, and Ford dealer network guide. A flier for The First Pictorial Guide "The Eastern Fells", which was published in 1955. Wainwright had an aversion to publicity but realised he would need a means of drawing attention to his book in order to get it into the shops. He produced this flier which he sent to old friends in Blackburn as well as various bodies he thought might help promote the book.
