1997 Mercedes E220 2.2 litre 2 door cabriolet Registration: P460VGN Chassis: WDB1240622C292059 Odometer: 99,638 Transmission: 4 Speed Auto Petrol MOT: Oct 2023 Guide £7,000 - £8,000 . Original purchase invoice . 2 previous keepers . MOT's dating back to 2000 . Comprehensive history file with invoices dating back to September 1999 being its first service at Mercedes Woking . First owner for 6 years and the second for18 years . Original Mercedes Benz Woking dealer plates Outside The car presents very well in the lovely Azurite Blue with straight dent free bodywork and paintwork with very few imperfections, but the few there are include; near side wing mirror has a small scratch, off side wing mirror has an even smaller scratch, near side front indicator lens has some marks on the inside, very few small stone chips under the headlights, rear quarter has small amount of rust bubbling around 20 mm in length just in front of the rear wheel. The chrome works looks immaculate, as do all 4 alloy wheels with matching Michelin tyres. The hood is free from any rips or tears and hasn't faded like some do. I would say this car has spent most of its days garaged, although can't confirm. Pleasingly has its original dealer number plates from the supplying dealer Mercedes Benz Woking. Please view our walk around video to see the condition in more detail. Inside The mushroom leather electric front seats present extremely well, with the drivers side looking like its benefitted from a refresh and treatment recently, with no wear to the bolster or base showing. Carpets and matts look in good dry condition as do the rear seats and door cards. The steering wheel is a half wood half leather affair which was a £500 optional extra when new, but unfortunately the wood effect is showing some signs of cracking and the leather is quite worn. The leather on the centre console behind the gear selector is coming away and will need re-gluing at some point. The headlining has some wear marks in the rear from where the hood has been folded away. Mechanicals The 2.2 litre 4 cylinder petrol engine fire instantly and the car drives as sweet as a nut, with no undue knocks or bangs coming from the suspension components with the automatic gearbox shifting effortlessly through all gears as it wafts along quietly. Under the bonnet is very clean and free from any signs of corrosion, with the brakes working effectively and pulling up in a straight line. The electric hood works seamlessly for when those all too frequent Ribble Valley showers may catch us out. History There is a great history file with the car which shows its first owner keeping the car for 6 years until passing it on to the 2nd Kentish owner who was a custodian from September 2003 through to July 2021. The service book has many stamps with the last being stamped by Kam Servicing in March of last year. In amongst the many service and parts bills I came across the original purchase invoice which shows the original owner paid a whisker over £46,000 for the car back in March 1997. A photograph of this invoice is included in the photographs and shows the many optional extras. Our Opinion Presented in a condition that looks like its done half of the recorded mileage, this is a genuine every day useable classic which has clearly been cherished and looked after properly all its life. Ready for summer this car wants for nothing and is ready to waft you around in 90's luxury and comfort at a very affordable ownership price point.

G. STYLES, GARRARD & Co LTD, 2, JOHN NORRIE, 1.3oztAlex Styles was one of Britain's leading silver designers of the 20th century and spent most of his career as head designer for Garrard & Company until he retired in 1987. The Times newspaper once described him as "the finest designer of hand made silver in England".Styles is featured as one of the top 50 British silversmiths (Designer British Silver 1930-1985:, pgs 458-465) and his production runs were usually small. The article defines his role as designer rather than a silversmith, and goes on to say "Styles must have designed as much handmade silver as any person alive"John Norrie was a leading authority on caddy spoons and the author of the definitive reference book 'Caddy Spoons - An Illustrated Guide'. This would appear to be number 2 in a run of this design and was allocated to him.Overall in good condition with no obvious sign of damage or repair. Duelling.- Sharp (Granville) A Tract on Duelling, second edition, presentation copy from the author inscribed on title, old marbled wrappers, uncut, rebacked, for B.White & Son, 1790 § Hamilton (Joseph) Some Short and Useful Reflections upon Duelling...By a Christian Patriot, first edition, half-title, engraved frontispiece (lightly offset on title), advertisement leaf at end with newspaper cutting on the Anti-Duelling Association tipped in, later engraved bookplate of William Walter Dowding, original printed boards, rubbed and a little spotted, Dublin, for the Author, 1823 § Bluett (J.C.) Duelling and the Laws of Honour Explained..., first edition, half-title, 4pp. advertisements at end, original cloth, rubbed and faded, rebacked, 1835; and another on duelling, 8vo et infra (4)⁂ Three powerful anti-duelling essays. The first is an expanded version of Sharp's work of 1773 which tried to distinguish between manslaughter and murder in the case of duels. The second is attributed to Joseph Hamilton (the dedication is signed "Joseph") but it seems rather strange that Joseph Hamilton of Dublin should have written this little book as it was to be he who published, only six years later,The only approved guide through all the stages of a quarrel: containing the royal code of honour; reflections upon duelling; and the outline of a court for the adjustment of disputes, London & Dublin, 1829. Of the third item Library Hub records only one copy of this first edition (Birmingham University).
Horatius Flaccus (Quintus) Horatius, first Aldine edition, collation: a-s8, initial spaces with guide-letters, some early ink underlining and marginalia, a1 with a few very small worm holes (one affecting two letters first line verso, two to blank inner margin, and a couple to blank lower edge margin), a2 with three very small worm holes (one touching two letters first line and two to blank inner margin), c1-3&5 small worm hole to blank lower fore-edge corner, lacking S8 (final blank), a few scattered instances of light soiling, three very small losses to front endpaper, 18th century red morocco, spine and covers decoratively tooled in gilt, joints cracked (upper stitching coming loose, but lower firm), scuffing to spine ends and corners, 8vo (161 x 99mm.), Venice, Aldus Manutius, May, 1501. ⁂ Rare. The first Aldine edition of Horace, which is the second work ever to be printed in italic type, and one of the earliest examples of the pioneering Aldine octavo format. Aldus produced the first book in italics in April of 1501, his edition of Virgil, with the Horace following only a month later in May. Simultaneously, he introduced the octavo format for his classical Latin authors - easily portable, highly readable and more economical to buy and produce. The octavos both responded to and fuelled demand for compact scholarly editions, and the italic typeface allowed the text to be conveniently condensed into this smaller page size. Literature: Adams H854; Ahmanson-Murphy 41; Renouard 27:4; Edit 16 CNCE 22672.

It Includes methods employed in finding veins of various ores, the laws regulating the mining industry, and articles for mines in Derbyshire, Devon and other locations. The last concerns the effect of the gold discoveries on European prices.

This car does have a water leak from somewhere and there appears to oil contamination in the water and water contamination in the oil, which would suggest a cylinder head gasket fault, although we urge serious bidders to inspect the car and make up their own mind before bidding. History • Fully stamped service history book with stamps from either main agents or specialist • First of which on 29/04/1986 @ 1886 miles at Alex Norman (Garages) RR Ltd • Last stamp on 8/08/2018 @ 49,460 by Balmoral UK Rolls Royce and Bentley • Comes with owner's book pack • 2 sets of keys • Records of all previous owners • Selection of parts and service invoices dating back to 2010 • MOT certificates dating back to 2009 • Selection of old tax discs including the original when the car was new Our Opinion The last of the 'Proper' Rolls, our Silver Spirit has clearly been cherished and pampered by all 6 of its previous owners.
