Harris's widow and brothers, 1816, viii, 150, [4]pp., eight hand-coloured engraved plates, occasional spotting or browning, horizontal closed tear repair to penultimate leaf not affecting text, uncut, ink presentation inscription to front free endpaper, 'To Charles Rogers Esq[ui]re, from his sincere friend, the author', pastedowns and endpapers sometime renewed, contemporary red quarter morocco over boards, morocco spine label, rubbed, some markings and edge wear, 4to (265 x 210mm) Westwood & Satchell, page 21: 'Twelve copies of the first edition were in 4to, coloured with greater care, and published at two guineas'. This is one of the earliest books to include colour plates of tied flies and considered as the source book for Ronalds' Fly-Fisher's Entomology (1836). It follows George Scotcher's very rare Fly-Fisher's Legacy (Chepstow, 1800) as only the second angling book with hand-coloured engravings of natural flies. These comprise illustrations of forty natural flies suitable for trout and salmon fishing, the latter being the first coloured figures of salmon flies'. (1)

Wood Lea, 2008. 4to, org. grey cloth, in slip case; over 400 engravings, being Ravilious' complete output, along with many letters, preparatory drawings and other matter. One of 800 copies of the standard edition. A major work on Ravilous which expanded on the Lion and Unicorn edition. Ravilious, despite his short working life, is one of the most noted British artists of the early-twentieth century. A painter, designer, book illustrator and wood-engraver, his work is perhaps most recognised outside the artistic and book worlds in the two cricketers who still adorn the cover of Wisden. Moritz & Gerstenberger Em-Ge Zenit .177 Calibre 'Top Lever Break Action' Air Pistol. These Nazi German era ‘Zenit’ air pistols were only made for a short production period, from 1937 up to the outbreak of WW2 in 1939. They were made by Moritz & Gerstenberger at Zella Mehlis Thuringia Germany. Their trade name was ‘Em-Ge’ (see page 70 of Hiller’s book ‘A Collectors Guide To Air Pistols’). This example is excellent. It is top lever break action with fixed sights. It retains its original blue metal finish which has light surface scuffs consistent with age and use and has its original undamaged wood stock with checkered panel grips and embossed brass ‘Em-Ge’ roundels. The pistol measures 11" overall & has a 5" rifled barrel. The top of the lever is marked ‘Zenit’ together with manufacturer detail and the left side of the lever ‘Patent’. The barrel is marked with .177 calibre detail (all illustrated). The pistol cocks, loads and fires perfectly.

A very rare Wath China Works dessert plate painted by William Willis Bailey. With a scroll moulded rim and a wide gilt border with seaweed fronds and flower heads framing a finely painted scene titled verso The Fountain Nymph. Depicting a young girl seated wistfully gazing into a stream. Marked verso in red script Wath China Works and with a section from The Fountain Nymph taken from Heath's Book of Beauty 1835, 22.5cm wide. Notes; Bailey was still employed at the Rockingham china works whilst also running his own independent china decorating workshop where this service was created. It is unknown which factory supplied the porcelain.  Condition report intended as a guide only. Broken into three and reasonably glued. The plate displays quite well from the from but would arguably benefit from a good quality repair. Some wear to the gilding. Enamels bright and free from repair.
