The quintessential British Classic, like a ray of sunshine on a grey day.1958 Triumph TR3A finished in Signal Red with a classic black interiorImported to the UK from Maryland in 1967. Import paperwork with the carThe canvas soft-top and black removable hardtop are very presentable and in good working order.Previously owned by a TR Register Member who maintained it to very high standardLooked after for many years by Bridge Classic Cars in Suffolk Good history file Recent full service, fuel line replacement and some attention to the electrics Long famed for their rugged reliability and idiosyncratic good looks, the 'side screen' TRs have attracted a fanatical following over the years. The final evolution of the Triumph TR2/TR3 sportscar line (save for the American market TR3B), the TR3A was introduced in September 1957. It was never officially badged as such and was, in fact, a minor revision of the TR3 with updates including a new wide grille, exterior door handles, lockable boot and a full tool kit. Great fun to drive, its tough box-section chassis featured independent coil and wishbone front suspension, a leaf-sprung 'live' rear axle and disc/drum brakes. (The first British production car to have front disc brakes as standard). Fitted with a 1991cc four-cylinder OHV unit developing around 104bhp and 117lbft of torque, it was reputedly capable of 110mph. A great sales success on both sides of the Atlantic, the model provided a rather more visceral alternative to its MG and Jaguar competition. This is a fine example of the ever popular Triumph TR3A finished in Signal Red with a classic black interior having been previously owned by a TR Register Member who maintained it to very high mechanical and cosmetic standard as the car was regularly used in TR Register events. The bodywork appears clear of corrosion with no visual signs of any defects and excellent shut lines and the paintwork retains a deep and even shine. The black leather interior is classic TR3 and in excellent condition with a little gentle patination in the places you might expect. The car sits on steel wheels and both its canvas soft-top and black removable hardtop are very presentable and in good working order.Included in the Triumph’s extensive and well documented history are Import Papers dating back to 1967, when it returned to the UK from Maryland, invoices for parts etc. dating back over the last 25 years from leading suppliers such as Moss Europe, John Skinner and TR GB, an extensive MOT history, various manuals and the original instruction book (3rd edition). Most recently, in 2020, it had a full service, fuel line replacement and some attention to the electrics at the renowned Bridge Classic Cars in Suffolk who ensured, after numerous road tests, that UFF 787 is a joy to drive. They have looked after the car for many years and describe it as "Absolutely genuine and really lovely".The complete range of Fifties and Sixties TRs continue to be undervalued for what they offer in terms of lively reliable performance, great availability of parts and the simple fact that they are good-looking, charismatic old British sports cars. This fine, cared for TR is ‘on her toes’ both mechanically and bodily and seems incredibly appealing at this guide. Early Mk 1 Tiger superbly restored and very impressively presented.First registered on 25th Feb 1965 to Humber Ltd.(owner of Rootes) With our vendor since 2015 since when it has been through a comprehensive ,ground-up rebuild by Miles Classics Huddersfield, Alpha Auto Concepts, and John Sleath Racing Doncaster. Invoices within the file total over £88,000Fully recommissioned in 2018-2019 and since then has covered fewer than 500 miles. The engine has been fully rebuilt as a fast-road spec by JSR Doncaster and dyno tested at 282.9bhp. Full Tan period leather, Black contrast stitched interior, tonneau cover in Black contrast Tan stitched. Superbly finished in Cherry Black with a lined factory hardtop and sitting on a set of period HalibrandsSupplied with its Green Log Book with history up to 1973, a full photographic history of the rebuild, engine spec, receipts/bills etc, lots of history, workshop manuals - original copies, spare parts etc. There are Sunbeam Tigers, there are nicely restored Sunbeam Tigers and there is EHP 171C.This Sunbeam Tiger Mk1 was first registered on the 25th February 1965 to Humber Ltd. the parent company, 60% owned by the Rootes Brothers at the time. It’s believed by our vendor that the car was retained by the factory for some development work but that hasn’t been established. Whatever its early history, the Tiger has more recent Manx Rally and Sprint history and lived on the Isle of Man for some time in the late 70s to late 80s registered as 644 SPB. We understand that it was fitted with an engine built by Steve Burns to ‘Sprint’ spec (Steve was Sunbeam Tiger Owners Club Competitions Secretary at the time). It was subsequently sold to Peter Marshall who returned it to EHP 171C during his ownership. The current chapter of this Tiger’s tale began in 2015 when it was purchased by our vendor since when it has been through a comprehensive, ground-up, ‘rotisserie’ restoration by Miles Classics Huddersfield, Alpha Auto Concepts, and John Sleath Racing Doncaster. The cars History File can be inspected at our ‘Documents Desk’ and within the file are restoration invoices to the value of over £88,000 alongside a splendid collection of images displaying exactly where it went. The engine was been fully rebuilt as a fast-road spec by JSR Doncaster and dyno tested at 282.9bhp. New fast-road clutch, headers, hp radiator and header tank, larger fan, MSG electronic ignition and Holley 600cfm carb/air filter – all new. 'Powered by Ford' painted rocker-covers, Kenlowe twin electric fans and silicone hosing throughout. It also has a shatter proof bell-housing fitted and Lockheed servo-assisted brakes. There is evidence of the car’s race history with a solid firewall in the boot rather than the curtain as standard and the original battery cut-off has been retained and re-located in the boot. The gearbox tunnel is also modified to receive the ‘top loader’ Hurst Super Sifter with reverse lock-out, again still fitted to the car.The Tiger’s interior is really special as can be gleaned from the relevant invoice; “Retrim Tiger interior in Saddle Tan Bentley leather, including seats, doors, dash and various panels. Make new stereo housing console and speaker footwell panels. Fit sound deadening and install new carpets and underlay throughout. Full boot interior retrim including panels, battery cover and wheel cover. Fit mohair hood to frame and fit fixing to car body. Trim hardtop headlining and make hood bag. Total invoice price: £9,900.”The same attention has been paid to the Sunbeam’s exterior and it now looks fabulous in a deep Cherry Black with a matching hardtop and sitting on a set of period Halibrands. The car is STOC registered and has been featured in the Tiger Times, Rallye Sport, and many Classic magazines. It’s accompanied by the original Green Logbook showing its ownership up to 1973, a full photographic history of the rebuild, receipts/bills etc, tons of history, workshop manuals, original copies, spare parts and more. A full engine spec is available on request. Our vendor has invested more than £110,000 in this remarkable motor car which makes the current guide seem very sensible. We welcome and encourage any inspection of this top Tiger.SpecificationMake: SUNBEAMModel: TIGERYear: 1965Chassis Number: B9472424HR0FERegistration Number: EHP 171CDrive Side: Right-hand DriveMake: RHDClick here for more details and images
A beautiful, right-hand drive, 280SL Pagoda 2+2 on offer from 40-years of private ownership.Highly sought after right-hand drive, automatic 280SL Pagoda from 40 years caring ownershipData suggests that less than 10% of Pagodas manufactured were finished as California Coupes with occasional 2+2 seatingPresented in sparkling Silver Metallic with a matching factory hard-top, red leather seats and red carpetsSubject to a detailed and beautifully finished, award-winning restoration (MB Club "Best car on stand" – 2007)Comprehensive history file with buff log-book, a wealth of old MOTs and invoices for service and maintenance Presented to the auction after a light recommission by CMC in Bridgnorth and a fresh MOTOffered from a deceased estate at a sensible guideThe Mercedes-Benz 280SL (W113) 'Pagoda' was introduced in December 1967 and continued in production through until February 1971 before being replaced by its successor, the entirely new and substantially heavier R107 350SL. Over the years, the W113 quietly evolved from a nimble 'sports car' into a comfortable 'grand tourer' and was usually equipped with four-speed automatic transmission and air conditioning. The final evolution of the Pagoda was the 280SL, launched in November 1967 with a host of technical improvements, and is now seen as the most refined iteration of the W113 Series with the robust new seven-bearing, 2778cc, M130 engine developing 170bhp and perfectly suiting the automatic transmission.Offered here is a lovely, UK-supplied, right-hand drive 280SL 'Pagoda' California Coupé 2+2 finished in sparkling Metallic Silver with a colour matching hard-top, red leather interior and matching red trim. Our vendor's late husband purchased this Pagoda in 1981 and in the mid ‘80s some remedial works were completed to keep the car at its best. The Pagoda was enjoyed frequently until 1999 when the decision was made to instruct a full restoration by Shropshire-based Mercedes specialist , Classic Affair, and this process was documented, stage by stage, with supporting photographs. As a Mercedes-Benz Club UK member, our vendor's husband attended many events showing his Pagoda and such was the quality of the restoration that the car won several awards including the M-B Club " Best car on the Stand, 2007".Dry stored correctly over the years, the restoration has mellowed nicely and the Pagoda still presents very well. After a small period of time off the road, the decision was made to have the car checked over and MOTd by the highly-regarded classic specialists, CMC, before being presented for auction at the Classic Motor Show.Accompanying this venerable Mercedes is a comprehensive history file containing the aforementioned photographic record of the restoration, MB Club UK awards, the 'buff' logbook, a wealth of old MOTs, the current MOT and V5C and other related invoices and paperwork from over the years.A right-drive 280 SL Pagoda is highly sought after and rightfully so, and this lovely example is offered at a very reasonable guide and is now ready for the next chapter after 40 years of caring private ownership.SpecificationMake: MERCEDESModel: 280 SLYear: 1968Chassis Number: 11304422000352Registration Number: TGY 280FTransmission: AutomaticEngine Number: 13098322000223 Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 16756 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: RedClick here for more details and images

1983 Mercedes C123 230 CE Make: MercedesModel: 230 CE Year: 1983Mileage: 200466VIN: 12324320019553Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: GKF896YTransmission: automatic Introduced in 1977 as the two-door coupe version of the rugged W123 saloon, the C123 featured a shortened wheelbase and attractively redesigned upper section. The 230CE designation was used for the 134bhp Bosch fuel-injected 2299cc four-cylinder coupes, produced until 1985. This smart blue example (previously gold up until 2004) with grey striped cloth interior has a paperwork file that includes current and previous V5Cs, spare key and many bills dating back to late 1990s, testifying to lots of care, attention and diligent servicing over the years. There are also MoTs from 1997 to 2016 (when the last one was issued). The service book is stamped up to 127,210 miles and comes in the original plastic folder with the service guide, UK sales and service booklet, owner's manual and Alpine cassette radio guide. Aside from some bubbles at the bottom of the nearside front wing, this Mercedes is in very presentable order inside and out. The odometer reading is 200,466 miles. The car is recorded as a Category C insurance loss - vehicle extensively damaged but repairable; insurer decided not to repair - from June 1997. 1998 Rover Mini Cooper Make: RoverModel: Mini CooperYear: 1998Mileage: 134537VIN: SAXXNNAZEWD155378Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: R765GJETransmission: ManualMinis have always been popular candidates for modifying and customising, but the vendor believes this late Cooper, registered in August 1998, is almost completely original save for its aftermarket exhaust back-box. It has been off the road since 2016, with its last MoT expiring in August of that year. The car has had three former keepers according to the V5C, and the odometer reading - which is warranted by the history - is 134,537 miles. The paperwork includes the current V5C and the original document folder with owner's handbook, in-car entertainment guide and service book. This is stamped up to 60,474 miles in 2006. The online MoT history then confirms the mileage beyond that. There are test certificates from 2003 onwards and a selection of invoices. The most recent one, from April of this year, is for new pedal pads and an accelerator pedal. There are also tax discs from 2004 to 2014. 1997 Volvo 940 Celebration EstateMake: Volvo Model: 940 Celebration Year: 1997Mileage: 81565VIN: YV1945811W1229537Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: R790PNNTransmission: manualThe 940 Celebration was a last-of-the-line model built to mark the passing of Volvo's traditional rear-wheel drive big four-cylinder estates, as the marque switched to front-wheel drive. Only available in estate form and with a host of extra equipment, it cost a hefty £18,425 on the road. Powered by the 2.3-litre light pressure turbo engine, the spec featured metallic paint, colour co-ordinated bumpers, sports grille, roof rails and 15-inch alloy wheels. Inside, there was half-leather upholstery, wood trim, air conditioning, front and rear electric windows, leather steering wheel, RDS radio cassette player, headlamp wash/wipers, ABS brakes, electrically-heated front seats and adjustable door mirrors. This example, in Blackberry Metallic with black cloth/grey leather interior, was registered in November 1997. Its odometer shows 81,565 miles (which is largely confirmed by the available history), and it has had three former keepers. Its MoT has only recently expired, in October of this year. Aside from the current V5C, the paperwork includes the original Volvo booklet wallet, with owner's manual, service book (stamped up 76,102 miles in 2014) and dealer network guide. The selection of invoices date from the middle of the first decade of the 21st century, as do the pair of MoT certificates. The Volvo's interior is in very good order; with little wear to the seats, nice wood, and no lifting of the vinyl covering on the door cappings (which often affects 900-series cars). Ripspeed tread plates are fitted in the door apertures, The exterior displays stone chips on the bonnet, and there are also areas of wear and flatness in the paint. Corrosion is evident on the nearside door mirror base and offside front wheel arch, which is holed. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 7TH OCTOBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

The paperwork file contains the V5C and 2020 bills for a new mohair hood, battery, and work to fix a rear seat. The book pack contains instructions for the audio system, service book (stamped up to 93,013 miles in July 2019), dealer directory, assistance and warranty details, leather care guide and owner's handbook. A check of the online MoT history suggests the car was off the road between 2015 and 2020. A spare key is included. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 27TH OCTOBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.
2000 Audi S4 Quattro Avant EstateMake: Audi Model: S4 Quattro Estate Year: 2000Mileage: 147000VIN: WAUZZZ8DZYA165004Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: X215OJOTransmission: manualWhile estate cars aren't - or at least weren't - generally regarded as being terribly sporty, Audi's S4 Quattro Avant is an exception to that rule. The load-lugging performance version of the A4 was launched with the second generation B5 model in 1998. This silver example with black leather interior was registered in October 2000 and has seven previous registered keepers recorded by the V5C. Its current MoT runs until August 2022. 147,758 miles are recorded on the odometer. The paperwork file includes the V5C and there are recent bills to rectify an engine oil leak and airbag fault (September 2020, £594), new offside front and offside rear wheel bearings (October 2020, £354), new timing belt, water pump, thermostat, camshaft chains and tensioners, clutch, and engine oil and filter (April 2021, £1489), and four upper front control arms (June 2021, £239). Other invoices stretch back to around 2013. There are MoT certificates for 2021, 2020, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2014, 2013, 2012 2006, 2004 and 2003, which suggest the recorded mileage of 147,758 is genuine. The service book is stamped up to 70,614 miles in September 2006, with a further stamp in April 2021. There are also operating instructions for the sound system and a quick reference guide. Coryate (?1577-1617) studied at Oxford without taking a degree and ended up at the court of James I, where he gained considerable popularity as a wit and buffoon. He used money inherited from his father to travel, setting off in 1608 and visiting some 45 cities in 7 countries in 5 months on foot, by cart, boat and horse. It is reckoned he covered almost 2,000 miles, over half of which was accomplished in one pair of shoes, mended only once and, on his return, hung up in the church at Odcombe in Somerset (his place of birth), where they remained for over a century. Despite his achievements, he found it difficult to get the account of his journies published and so appealed to all he knew to write commendatory verses about himself and the book. Among the more than 60 contributors of mock-heroic verse were Ben Jonson (acrostic on b4), John Donne, Inigo Jones, George Chapman and Michael Drayton. Provenance: George Steevens (1736-1800, commentator on Shakespeare, friend of Samuel Johnson, ink stamp on title verso); Dudley C. Marjoribanks (leather bookplate).
