1963 Alvis TD21 Series II Saloon by Park Ward Transmission: manualMileage:89078The highly refined and supremely elegant Alvis TD21 was launched in late 1958 and owes its stylistic origins to a special-order Hermann Graber coupé variant of the TC21/100 with coach-built by Park Ward. 785 versions of the Series I were manufactured with just 285 Series IIs with the latter variant upgraded with four-wheel Dunlop disc brakes as well as door frames and bodywork now constructed of aluminium for lightness. The previously stand-alone fog lamps were now built into the front of the car, recessed in the new circular air intakes, one for the heater, the other for the carburettors, A five speed manual ZF gearbox was also now installed although the Borg-Warner automatic unit remained available as an option. The extensive aluminium coachwork has been taken back to bare metal in the past with relatively recent blue paintwork still looking fresh on this five-speed manual example. There are some minor remedial repairs required across the bodywork including surface chrome-work. The wire wheels are in good order as indeed are the Vredestein tyres. The interior grey leather trim has been replaced with high quality hide in the front seats with the rear seats remaining original. The armrests and leather door-cappings are also original and, according to the extensive history file, this benefits from a new MoT test certificate valid until July 2024 and with no issues to note. With an insurance valuation by the Alvis Owners Club of £25,000 in 2013, this is offered without reserve and should attract significant interest. Interested parties should note that the brakes on this vehicle have failed. However, it will still be sold at auction with permission to repair the system at the vendors expense and deliver it free of charge (within 100 miles) to the new owner.
