In this copy the view of the West Prospect of Glocester Cathedral, normally placed at page 82, has been bound in place of the missing North Prospect of Glocester Cathedral, at page 126.Many copies of this edition were lost in a fire at the printer's house in Whitefriars on 30 January 1712. Upcott notes that a similar fate befell copies of the second edition. Sir Robert Atkyns, MP and topographer was somewhat overshadowed by his father, who was chief baron of the exchequer was speaker of the House of Lords between 1689 and 1693. Atkyns refused to take the oath of allegiance to William III and retired to Pinbury Park in Gloucestershire. The first of the three major Gloucestershire antiquaries, the other two being Ralph Bigland (1712-1784) and Samuel Rudder (1726-1801), Atkyns collected material for parish histories in an attempt to record the population of each parish, based on the number of houses therein and the yearly birth and burial numbers.

2012 Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé Transmission: automaticMileage:36177A historic model in the continuing history of the Rolls-Royce marque, the Phantom was the first all-new design to be introduced by the company following its takeover by BMW. Produced at a new factory near Goodwood in Sussex, the Phantom revived a great name from Rolls-Royce's past, which had always been synonymous with unrestrained luxury. In keeping with the tradition established by previous Phantoms, the newcomer was a very large motor car, outstretching the old Silver Seraph by 18 while boasting a radiator shell four inches taller. Priced at around £260,000 at time of launch, it was also 40% more expensive. While the body structure represented the ultimate in automotive technology, its accoutrements remained entirely traditional in choice of materials, consisting of the finest hide trim, genuine woollen carpets, and carefully selected wood veneers. This Phantom Coupé was originally registered by Rybrook Rolls-Royce as a demonstrator and was specified in this stunning colour combination of Metropolitan Blue with Seashell extended leather interior. The car was purchased by the vendor in 2013 and has been cherished ever since, maintained regardless of cost and presented in absolutely immaculate condition. The original specification includes the all-important starlight leather headlining, Piano black veneer, 21" fully polished alloy wheels, automatic soft close doors and boot lid, two Rolls-Royce door umbrellas, front and rear parking cameras, garage door opener, 15 speaker premium surround sound, active cruise control, sat nav, Bluetooth, ambient interior lighting, heated seats and automatic Spirit of Ecstasy. Quite simply, this car is the very height of luxury, there is nothing aside from a private jet which would be better appointed for a journey to the south of France.Further cementing just how fastidious the vendor is, the car had over £12,000 of paintwork in 2018, just to bring it up to the standard he desired, attending to any stone chips which had been picked-up over the preceding years. A further £8,205 was spent in 2021, attending to rubber seals around the windows, doors, wings, arch clips and so on, the car now must be seen to be fully appreciated. These cars are sure to go down as one of the most desirable modern Rolls-Royce's in years to come, produced in such small numbers and beginning to look even better with age, this example would be the perfect addition to any collection of significant cars.
1985 Land Rover 90 Transmission: manualMileage:92669The 1985 Land Rover 90 is an iconic off-road vehicle that embodies ruggedness and adventure. This compact 4x4 boasts a timeless design characterized by its boxy silhouette, signature grille, and durable construction. Powered by a range of engines, including diesel and petrol options, it offered reliable performance in various terrains. This impressive Land Rover has just benefitted from a full restoration to the very popular heritage style. The starting point for this work was a solid 1985 registered 90 model that underwent an overhaul of the bulkhead and galvanising of the chassis which was then raptor coated for extra protection and rugged appearance. New brake lines, fuel tank, tow bar and drop hitch were fitted as well as new steering bars, sump guard, suspension springs and shock absorbers and galvanised shock towers. Waxoil was then applied for even greater protection. The body has been fully disassembled, repaired and painted in Atlantic Green, and then painstakingly re-assembled nut bolt and rivet, all catches, hinges, and any other fittings overhauled. All new window rubbers, door rubbers, gaskets and seals were added. The interior was kept as basic as possible but trying to encorporate comfort to, with that in mind a new set of Exmoor trim seat covers were fitted. The specification includes heated front seats, rear fold benches, floor mats, CD player and hidden speaker. It could possibly benefit from a new pair of door cards as they have a few small marks on them from seatbelts. The engine, gearbox and axles have been fully serviced. The exterior of the vehicle is very detailed and features front heritage grille and heritage badge, LED headlights , full LED light kit all round with rear floodlights that we are informed are incredible. The list continues with a set of five wolf steel wheels fitted with a new set of Goodyear wrangler tyres as per factory specification, puma bonnet, chequer wing tops, wing vents, series bezels and a galvanised bumper. A black roof with a sunroof was chosen to make it a little different from the rest. Old style doors with the stronger door handles complete the retro look. With a restoration cost in excess of £25,000 this land Rover deserves serious investigation by any interested party.

COMITÉ DE SALUT PUBLIQUE: Georges Couthon (1755-1794) French Politician and Lawyer. President of the National Convention 1793-94. A proficient speaker who often exploited his condition as a paraplegic in order to gain the Assembly`s approval of his proposals. The partially printed document bears the to the heading a vignette of the Committee of Public Safety, and states that having informed `..that among the citizens arrested as a result of the disturbances at Coulommiers, there is a large number of workers, craftsmen, of citizens who are strayed or were cheated by several conspirators and contra-revolutionaries..´ The Committee of Public safety orders that Mr. Maure, representative of the people, will travel to Coulommiers with full capacity to deal with this matter. Small overall minor age wear, with small creasing to edges. G Nicolas Maure (1743-1795) Member of the Convention. He was guillotined as a former supporter of Robespierre. The peasants uprising of November-December 1793, known as the "Petite Vendée Briarde" took place in Brie and nearby, including Colummiers, and was mainly caused because of the anti-religious measures adopted by the Convention, closing churches and forbidding priests to teach.
