SF Bartolo Mascarello è stato per prima cosa un intellettuale, amico dei più importanti pensatori della sinistra italiana, che venivano a trovarlo a Barolo, attratti dalla cucina di Langa e dai suoi celebri vini. Una persona che ha mantenuto grande coerenza e rispetto per la denominazione. Lontano mille miglia dalle sirene moderniste e da alcune innovazioni come rotomaceratori e barrique. Questo Lotto può contare sulla presenza di due ottime annate, fra le migliori degli anni Settanta. Bartolo Mascarello was firstly an intellectual, a friend of the most important thinkers of the Italian left wing, who used to visit him in Barolo, attracted by the cuisine of the Langa and its famous wines. He is a person who has maintained great consistency and respect for the designation. A thousand miles away from the modernists and from some innovations like rotary macerators and barrique. Wine cellar of a famous Piedmontese restaurant, controlled temperature and humidity. SF Enrico Scavino è stato il primo in Langa ad adottare, all’inizio degli anni Ottanta, i rotomaceratori orizzontali. Un grande cambiamento che fece scuola ed ebbe molti imitatori. Questo per dire che questo vignaiolo è sempre stato un innovatore e sperimentatore. Con il tempo l’uso di queste tecnologie è stato meno spinto e anche l’uso di legno piccolo nuovissimo è un po’ diminuito. Questa etichetta è la sua più celebre e famosa, quella a cui è più affezionato. La 2004 è una delle versioni meglio riuscite. Enrico Scavino was the first in Langa to adopt horizontal rotary macerators in the early 1980s. An important change, which soon had many imitators. This is what makes this winemaker an innovator and an experimenter. With time the use of these technologies has declined, and also the usage of new small barrique has somewhat diminished.
