Folter - - Protokoll über Verhör und Folterung des Henning Tode aus dem Kreis Steinburg (Schleswig-Holstein), angeklagt wegen Totschlags und mehrerer Diebstähle. Deutsche Handschrift auf Papier in doppelter Ausfertigung (Entwurf und Reinschrift), dazu Bericht über den Tod des Delinquenten (Entwurf). Krempe, "in der Frohnerey in der Volter-Cammer", 31.V.1710 und 24.II.1711. Zusammen 16 Bl., die letzten beiden weiß. Deutsche Kursive, die Reinschrift sauber und gut leserlich. 31-34 x 19-21 cm. Unter späterem Aktenumschlag geheftet (dieser fleckig und mit Randdefekten).Laut Verhörprotokoll wird Tode bezichtigt, am 15. April 1710 den Landdiener Jacob Meinert mit der Flinte auf dem Gribbohmer Moor "geflissentlich" erschossen zu haben. Tode behauptet, er sei gefallen, dabei habe sich der Schuss gelöst. Ebenso leugnet er mehrere bis zum Jahr 1708 zurückgehende Diebstähle, u.a. in der Kirche zu Wilster. Der Scharfrichter zeigt daraufhin "dem Inquisiten die zur Peinlichkeit gehörigen instrumenta ... und wie er mit ihm verfahren würde". "Als aber auch dieses nichts verfangen wollte, ward die territio realis mit Ausziehung der Kleider und Führung zur Marter-Banck vorgenommen ... sind ihm 51. Minuten auff 2. Uhr, die Hände gebunden, die Daum-Schrauben auffgesetzet, und damit zugeschroben worden: da er dann rief, er könte nichts anderes sagen, und wenn sie ihn auch todt peinigten. Hierauff ward ein wenig gelüfftet und sofort wieder zugeschroben." Dieser Prozeß wiederholt sich mehrfach. Da kein Geständnis erfolgt, wird Tode "11. Minuten auff 3. Uhr am linken Bein ein Spanischer Stiefel angelegt, und einiger massen zugeschroben", ebenfalls mehrfach, dann auch am rechten Bein. Gleichzeitig wird ihm "die Hand-Linie angeleget, und damit etwas angezogen, wobey er aber nichts sagte. Darauff ward ein wenig nachgelassen, jedoch sofort wieder 3. Grad angezogen, und daneben mit den Schlüsseln auf beide Bein-Schrauben geschlagen. Inquisit schwieg aber gantz still dazu; endlich rief er: Er könnte nichts sagen". Ihm wird die "gespiekte Hose untergeleget", er wird schließlich "gantz ohnmächtig". Die Tortur wird nach einer vollen Stunde ohne das gewünschte Ergebnis beendet und Tode wieder in Gewahrsam des Scharfrichters gegeben. Das reinschriftliche Protokoll ist auf Stempelpapier verfasst und von "J. Zincke" (?) unterzeichnet, "in Abwesenheit des Herrn Justiz-Rahts Masius" (der Landvogt Nicolaus Heinrich M., 1656-1712). Ein nachgeheftetes Blatt berichtet in flüchtiger Hand mit Streichungen und Korrekturen über die letzten Tage und das Ableben Todes im Gefängnis. Wenn er die Verbrechen begangen hätte, "so wolte er, daß er todt und stumm würde, und ihn die Läuse fräßen". - Die Akte diente 1958 als Demonstrationsobjekt für einen Vortrag zum Thema im Rotary-Club Heide, das Redemanuskript samt Transkription (in deutscher Schrift) liegt bei. - Die unbeschnittenen Ränder angestaubt, etwas fleckig und mit kleinen Läsuren, der Sterbebericht mit Randausbruch unter geringem Textverlust.
