Section 58 (2) Antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Buyer must be over the age of 18, age verification will be required if the lot is to be posted out.129cm longThe gun is in nice general condition. The barrels ring when tapped and there are no dents visible. There has been some pitting to the outsides which has been removed before rebrowning but the maker's engraved name on the rib is still crisp. There are some scuff marks to the browning along the length of the tubes but nothing defacing. The bores have some scattered pitting marks scattered throughout. These are mainly seen in the first half of each tube and are more frequent in the right tube. The pitting marks are generally small and although too deep to polish out, they are probably not too deep to cause major concern. The barrels are on face and tight on the action with no wobble with the forend removed. The actions function correctly with strong mainsprings and positive lock up. The polished steel parts have some light occasional small patches of pitting. The colour case hardening of the locks has largely worn away but there are traces present. The stock is free from splits or repairs, there are occasional scratches and dents from use but nothing defacing. The worst mark on the woodwork is deep scratch in the chequering on the right side see image 1 and 3 online.

There are no dents visible. There is a patch of pitting which has been removed on the outside, right hand side of the barrel (see extra images added online). The blacking to the barrels is in good order with only slight wear. The bore is generally free from pitting with just a few marks ahead of the chamber. The barrel is on face and tight on the action with no wobble with the forend removed. The action functions correctly with a strong mainspring. There is some small patches of very light corrosion seen on the water table and also around the edges of the lock. There are other small dark marks scattered throughout the metalwork. The stock has been extended but is free from splits or repairs, there are very occasional light scratches and dents from use but nothing defacing. The forend wood has shrunk and consequently, there is a noticeable gap between the wood and the metalwork. There is a small chip to one corner of the forend. Watson Brothers 4 bore single barrel shotgun Watson Brothers 4 bore single barrel shotgun, 43inch Damascus barrel engraved Watson Brothers Pall Mall London, with London proof marks, rotary underlever action with rebounding hammer and simple double line border engraving, figured stock with rope hole.Section 58 (2) Antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Buyer must be over the age of 18, age verification will be required if the lot is to be posted out.14" LOP The gun is in reasonable condition and shows signs of a regular working life up until fairly recently. There are signs all over of the gun being cleaned up within the last 30-50 years such as a rebrowned barrel and other refinishing procedures. Some of the screw heads show signs within the slots of being worked. The bore of the gun has some light pitting marks and shadows scattered throughout, there are more of these marks in the first part of the barrel, around the forcing cone and end of the chamber. The exterior of the gun has occasional scattered rust spots and some very light scattered peppered pitting. The action works correctly with a good mainspring, the firing pin has some light corrosion and does not slide forward and back as smoothly and lightly as it should. The watertable has some scuff marks to it perhaps due to some corrosion that has been polished off. The forend has two well-executed repairs to the thinnest part of the wood where it meets the barrel. There is also a short split to the horn end cap but this remains stable. The pistol grip has a plugged hole to the base, this is probably reinforcing a repair however it is not obvious from the outside of the gun what or if there has been a repair. There are some light scuffs and dents from use, the worst of these is around the rope hole which has been fitted into the butt of the gun. The stock has been lengthened.
Charles Lancaster 14 bore hammer gun Charles Lancaster 14 bore hammer gun, rotary underlever slide forward 28.25 barrels engraved Charles Lancaster 151 New Bond St. London Patent Breech Loader, scroll engraved back actions, (one hammer replaced) figured chequered stock, the barrels numbered 3771. Section 58 (2) Antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Buyer must be over the age of 18, age verification will be required if the lot is to be posted out.113cm longThe gun is in 'sleeper' condition but shows signs of a hard working life. The barrels ring when tapped. There are several small dents visible on both tubes. There is overall pitting to the outside of the barrels. The bores have scattered but frequent pit marks which are too deep to polish out. The barrels are on face and tight on the action with no wobble with the forend removed, there is a slide forward action when opening and closing the breech which works correctly. The left hand action works correctly. The right hand action has a replacement hammer and retaining screw. The new hammer has not been completely finished and currently the action will not move to full cock and only do half cock, this might be due to some finishing work needed as the side of the replacement hammer fouls the wood work when you attempt to move to full cock. The metalwork has some light pitting with deeper marks around the edged of the wood to metal fit. The stock is free from splits or repairs, there are a lot of scratches and dents from use as well as chipping around the edges of the lock areas. The forend retaining wedge has been replaced, the escutcheons are poor fitting due to wood shrinkage.

Buyer must be over the age of 18, age verification will be required if the lot is to be posted out. 117cm longThe gun is in reasonable overall condition and appears to be a genuine old shotgun that has not been messed with. There is a nice patina which could greatly be improved with careful cleaning and polishing. The barrels have light overall pitting marks throughout. The bores also have some scattered pitting which is too deep to polish out but would improve with careful restoration. There are no dents visible. The barrels are on face and tight on the action with no wobble between action and tubes. The actions function correctly with strong mainsprings. There is some light pitting to the action body as well as some more intense pitting found on the trigger guard and the butt plate. Some of the screw heads are chewed from use. The stock is free from splits or repairs, there are some scratches and dents from use but nothing defacing. There are minor chips or wear to the corners of the forend where they meet the action.
