A Chinese presentation plate, featuring central repousse dragon and fish design, surrounded by engraved Chinese character markings relating to the presentation of the piece, the edge of the plate engraved with floral and foliage design, white metal stamped with Chinese character markings. PROVENANCE: Believed to have been presented to Bertram (Bai) Barry for his 60th Birthday. Bertram was very involved in charitable and social causes in Chongqing, including: making the Yangtze River navigable to boats, founding the fire brigade, founding the Rotary club, employing local staff in his businesses and introducing Western plants to the gardens.

Hallmarked Birmingham 1939, with brown leather strap, weight including mechanism 25.5gms Condition Report:"Garrard; winds and is ticking, nice & Clean. Diameter of the case 3cm, there is a tiny piece of dirt on the sub dial, looks loose & will come off. Rotary Maximus;-winds and is ticking, Dennison cased. Nice and clean. Diameter of the case 2.8cm. The Rotary watch has a Dennison case, if there was a photo of a Tudor movement then that is not in this lot...Yes, they are gents watches."
