It had previously been bought c.1918-20 to power a wind generator but was never used for that purpose. The owner had the propeller professionally restored by an ex DMD London workshop apprentice. The Royal Aircraft Factory F.E.8. was a WWI British single-seat fighter it was powered by a Gnome Monosoupape rotary engine.
