JOHNSON AMY: (1903-1941) English Pioneer Aviatrix. A printed 8vo menu for a dinner held in honour of Johnson by the Rotary Club of Alexandria at the Hotel Casino San Stefano, Alexandria, Egypt, on 31st July 1930, signed ('A. Johnson') to the blank inside front cover by Johnson with her name alone in bold pencil, and also signed by two other unidentified individuals, each in bold pencil with their names alone. With a heavy horizontal fold to the centre, not affecting the signatures, G A few months prior to signing the present menu Johnson had achieved worldwide recognition by becoming the first aviatrix to fly solo from England to Australia, 5th - 24th May 1930.
