An English Civil War Pikeman's Corslet, the peascod breastplate with rolled edge, the tassets with false plates and decorative rivets, steel hinges, together with an associated back plate with later leather straps and rivets. . My opinion is that it is 17th century period. There are areas of delamination to both plates. The skirt of the breastplate with rough edge, possibly cut down to fit the tassets. Minor dents to the medial ridge. The back plate is not original to the breastplate, but of the same period. The back plate has cracks and losses to the rolled edges around the arms and to the flange skirt. The leather straps and rivets are later additions.Provenance:- from a deceased collector from the Lake District
